Heading to the ER

As soon as I can find a ride or get my husband home from work, I will be heading to the ER for some IV fluids. Dr. Evanson's office recommended getting rehydrated now before it gets really bad. I'm all for it if it will make me feel better.

Thinking of you and hope you come home feeling a lot better.  As nurses we know that an IV for hydration can really boost our patients.  It is just hard when we are the patient.  Take care,  Terry

Thanks. Wish I had a friend who could just grab a bag or two of NS and an IV kit and come visit me! ;o)

Hey I have an angiocath and tubing in my nurse bag---I am still working for the home care company in MI or I could get some NS from our emergency supply box at the office.  Think we both know tho that however tempting it is best to go to ER.  It is hard to reverse those roles isn't it.

I sure hope everything gets better for you.  Getting in the fluids will help you get back to the point where you can drink and hopefully eat something.  I would hate for you to have to spend Christmas in the hospital.

I will keep you in my prayers!

Huge hugs,
Tracy

Yeah! I'm home and I feel like a new woman! I had a liter of NS and a dose of Zofran for nausea. By the time the fluids finished I felt so much better. I even drank 9 oz of Crystal light in about 30 minutes without any problems and drank another 5 oz on my way home! I truly feel that was the best thing for me. Now I'm eating some soup and then gonna try my darndest to get to 30 oz tonight. I am a little sore tonight. Haven't had any lortab since yesterday morning. But I've been up moving around a lot more today. Probably gonna work hard to get as much fluids in as I can, then take some lortab and go to sleep.

While I was at the hospital, I spoke with a NUT who was able to give me a few more ideas. I bought some SF hot chocolate and SF apple cidar. She suggested using warm fluids. I can't wait to try them. Thanks all for the prayers.
