I need to pick the brains of my OH family

Hello to all of my OH Indiana Board Famiy...
I am wondering if anyone has a suggestion for me.  I have been down with a cough, sore throat and fever this week.  I went to the dr and got a script for an anti-biotic.  We all know it takes a little while for this to kick in.  My poor pouch isn't real medication friendly.  Taking the anti-biotic is making me pretty nauseated.  I have tried taking it with yogurt, with a full stomach and splitting up the dosage.  To no avail.  Any other suggestions?
My fever is still up... 102.3 today and I am fighting the chills.  I would love to get rid of this cough. I have tried the sf cough drops... putting vicks on my chest, taking mucinex and nothing seems to work there.  Anything come to mind that might help?
I love that I can post and have a wealth of knowledge from all of you.  I am so thankful for that.
So please don't think I am whining.  I am just looking for suggestions that may have helped someone else.  I am still getting to know this new stomach and seems my body chemistry is all different too.  Things that did work before wls don't necessarily work now.
God Bless and have a great weekend everyone.
Blessings to you all, Leah

Leah, I wish I had an answer for you.  I have been very lucky to not be sick.  All I can offer is a huge hug and hope you feel better soon.

I would call and see if they could give you a liquid.  That way you could take smaller doeses thru the day.  Other than that I would keep pushing fluids and if it gets to bad go to the er......

Hang in there!

Hugs

Thanks so much Melissa.  I called the drs office and got a liquid.  It seems more pouch friendly.
And as always... doing the liquids.....
Blessings to you all, Leah

I am glad they did.  I would think liquid would be easier to tolerate anyway.....cuz food is hard enough much less meds....lol

Wow hon - wish I could help, but I have no idea.  I'd be careful about OTC stuff due to sugars and alcohol in them.  Have you called your surgeon?  He/she may be able to direct you to something that will not give you grouchy pouchy syndrome - you don't need that on top of being sick.  Keep pushing fluids!

Christie  I am a label reading freak at this point!! I am always amazed how they sneak sugars and carbs into things.
I was dreading getting sick for the first time for this exact reason.  We have to figure out what our pouch is ok with and not ok with.
Talk to you soon and so happy you are doing so well.  You rock!
Blessings to you all, Leah
