I have to agree with both Sherri and Jodi...do it or don't.  I enjoy being an elf...I have financial straights that sometimes hinder but I have always sent a card..(email or snail mail)  and remembered birthdays etc...And received no acknowledgements or Thanks yous. My own elf sent me couple of cards and a small box of assorted treats (which I really loved!) but that has been it. I had my birthday and bandiversary in October...nothing to acknowledge either which hurt. But I am a big girl...no pun intended ...and I still kept on being the type of elf I myself would have liked to have had. If there has been financial or health issues I would understand...we all have those bumps in the road. I am not giving up on this though. I think it is still a great way to support people and offer them some extra encouragement,  reward their efforts, and support them anyway you can!  I personally love the ccards and notes I did receive. They meant alot to me and still are on my desk to remind me daily that there are other people out there going through the same things I am at times!  Sherri...keep up the great job you have done! This is an awesome idea and hopefully people will remember that once you have committed...you need to follow through or notify Sherri!

P.S. My package is in the mail to my elf for Christmas...hope she enjoys it and Merry Christmas to all of ya!

I have not participated yet.  The last drawn was done right about the time of my surgery and I missed it.  But I look forward to it sooo much.

I just want to share a thought with everyone.  This program is meant to be a blessing in everyone's life who is participating.  No matter how big or small of a thought or gift you send someone... it can mean the world to them.  Sometimes a simple act of kindness from you can make a whole day better and even turn someone's bad day into a much better one.  So, no matter how much you think it will cost... its as simple as caring enough to show someone you are thinking of them.  Big or small .... it all matters!  I personally can't wait to be an elf and support my fellow loser!

I hope lots of us participate and show our love and support to each other.

Thanks Sherri for organizing this and being the naughty elf police.  Sorry we need one, but I understand why we do.

I love this program. Getting a card or e-card is such a blessing to me, It seemed like they just knew when I needed one.And that's what makes this program special to me. I didn't need anything other than to know I was being thought of.
This program is a blessing to me, and I am happy to be part of it. Thanks, Sherri for making this awesome gift to us all.
 Hugs, Gail

I still don't know who my Elf was this year !!! But, you were a wonderful & caring Elf, getting an e-card on Thanksgiving was so kind of you to think of me.  Thank you, Elf

Sherri, I sent you an email when you requested it noting my new email address.  Floyd was also notified long ago.  Our company was insight and has now changed their name to comcast thats the only difference.  You should have recieved an email from me , please let me know if the info you posted is correct and you don't have a response from me so that I can email you my info again.

Jeannie,

I just corrected your addy. Most of those who came back durring my test email was from insight. Did they go out of business or something?

Thanks!

Comcast has always been the parent company for Insight.  I have no idea why they changed the billing in some areas to come from Comcast now...weird.  Oh yeah and our customer service went to hell in a hand basket along with the name change.

Jeannie,

Do you know if Comcast changed the addy for all of 'insight' customers? If they did, I can try sending out a test email to the others on 'insight' and see if we can get the majority of the emails corrected.

I would like to add a few cents here.

We all know the rules of the elf program. We all knew what was expected of us. But put aside all  that and think why did I join the elfster program. Was it to give or was it to receive?

If it is to receive and you only get cards in the mail for the whole 6 months guess what? That is the only thing that is required so your elf would be considered an excellent elf. But you might have given boxes full of goodies every month. Does that make you a better elf?

I am just seeing alot of unthankfulness during this whole thing. On one hand I don't think its right to sign up for elfster and not do the minimum you are asked. So I do see everyones side of it on that hand, But I also don't think its right to complain about your elf on a public forum.  These are your fellow OHers. These are the same people you will be seeing at different events along the way.

Not trying to rock the boat or anything. I love all of you guys. Can't wait to see everyone at the next clothing exchange.

Hugs

Robin
