Nothing is wrong with you at all.  We all lose at different rates.  Your body is recovering from major surgery.  You're going to wake up shortly to a gigantic weight loss, I'm telling ya!!

I've been losing fast.  However, I may have been bypassed more than you are.  I would imagine that I will hit a plateau within a week or so and lose nothing for a week while my body catches up with me.

By the way, since we are "surgery sisters" I would love to keep in touch with you.  But I couldn't find you on the Hoosier Losers Directory that Floyd sent out.  Are you on there and I just missed it?  If not, and it is ok with you, I'll PM you my address and you can PM me yours, and we can keep in touch.

don't give up.  When your body recovers from the shock of surgery, it is going to start coming off.  You'll see.  From what I've read, it sometimes takes up to 8 weeks to really get rockin' and rollin' with the results.  Hang in there surgery sis!

did you include your water weight in your weight loss of 14 lbs?

See those other responses?  You'll catch up before you know it!

And yes - I included my water weight.  My first weigh in after surgery was 6 pounds on the nose higher than what I was the morning of surgery.  I don't know why I only gained 6 pounds.  As of today, I am 21.4 pounds down.  That includes the 6 pounds of water weight.

I'm telling you - you are gonna wake up one morning and put me to shame.  You just wait and see.

Realize that during surgery and recovery you were loaded with liquids from IVs along with the body's normal swelling at "injury" sites.  It will take a while before you see the results on the scale.

Hide your scale.  Go back to it when you are a month out and see what happens.

I can eat as much as I want...I just don't want much.
I'm ashamed of what I did for a Klondike bar...

Once i had all the excess air out of my system and stuff it started showing.  Even my MIL is 2 weeks out and she woke up one morning (the other day) and had lost 15 pounds.  She was feeling really down about the whole thing too.

Hang in there

Jeanna, You have to remember too that you start at a different spot than others do. We are all different.  I have seen others that have posted on the main board with your same situation.  Then abt 3 weeks out... they are posting a huge loss all at once.  I know it makes you worried, sad, and upset all in one.  That's normal... but remember, your body is doing repair work right now... it has to have time to get things healed before it kicks up too much of a stir.  You will be posting your loss numbers in a few days and telling us you are dropping it like nothing!

Hang in there girl!

Huge hugs to ya and take care,

Tracy
