My insurance will pay for the RNY but just declined an office visit for my 6 months physican supervised diet because the Dr put down obesity as the diagnosis.  Weird??

ANyway I was just wondering if anyone knows what diagnosis they will use tomorrow for all my pre op tests?  I would hate to get all of that denied.

Thanks, Terry

If they will pay for the RNY, they'll pay for the tests as it will all be put down as pre op tests.  I have BC and they paid for all but $225 of my pre op tests.  The total, not counting the mammogram or stress echocardiogram required, was over $4000, if I recall.

My insurance UHC paid for the biggest part of all pre op tests.  The only bills I was left with were a few miscellaneous ones and the big one from the hospital to meet my max out of pocket for the year..they were
$54.00
$1.18
$26.00
and the big one ...$2564.00.   I am still working to pay this off, but it was well worth every penny!  My hubby also had about $6,000.00 worth of unexpected dental bills this year so slow but steady getting these bills taken care of.

Terry,

Did they denied ALL 6 supervised visits or only one of them?  If they denied only 1 call them and ask them why.  I found with my Cigna I had to call them EVERY month and tell them I do have coverage for supervised visits with a physician and they had to reprocess then every time I went.
