Just to ditto what everyone else said.  It is over whelming at first, and I had several days of crying and freaking out.  I could NOT believe what I had done to myself.  I don't have a very high pain tolerance and I was miserable.  Just do the best you can honey, keep taking your anti-depressants and your pain meds if you need them. (I was on pain meds for 2 weeks after coming home).  I never thought I would feel better.  I'm almost 2 months out now, and I can't even remember what the pain felt like.  You'll get there girlie, just takes time.

Jeanna, Positive mental attitude will get you through this rough part.  You are perfectly normal for feeling like this.  I found it easier for me to focus on a small goal each day... even as simple as setting a goal to have my meds and vitamins in by 10am.  Make babystep goals for yourself and enjoy your accomplishments even in the smallest of those steps.  It will help you stay positive.  Realize this is not a quick fix... it is a process and a journey.  You have to train yourself and your body the proper way of doing everything over again.  Once you get a routine down, it will be much easier and before long it will be a normal thing for you.

It is EXTREMELY difficult to get your supplements all in at first.  Just do the best you can and try to make an improvement on it each day.  In a couple weeks, you will be able to get your meds down much easier.

I wish I could send ya a big ole hug.... (still soft though)

Im proud of you for hanging in there and reaching out to us for your support.  WE LOVE YA GIRL!

You should be proud of yourself!!  You took your laps like a trouper in the hospital, and always had a smile whether I poked my head in your door, or you poked your head in mine.  And you're trying!  And coming here for help when you need it!  You are doing awesome honey.  Keep going!

Jeanna:

I felt just like you do now (see my profile).  But I know that now I would recommend the surgery to someone thinking about it.  My "tool" still works after 3 1/2 years.  I don't regret going through all the pain and agony at times to lose the weight.

Keep you face to the sun and you won't see the shadows!

Blessings,

Lois K. :)

Deep breath, Jeanna! You're not going to be able to get all the liquid down at first, you simply don't have room and you're still healing. Just sip and do the best you can. As for the pain, take your pain medicine when you need it. If it's overwhelming, call your doctor.

Hang in there, I promise it gets better!

You're totally normal. It will get better though. The first month was the hardest for me.
