Laptop at the hospital
Just wondering if anyone knows how I would use my laptop at the hospital to get online? I have wireless connection, but have never used it anywhere but home. Don't want to take it with me if I won't know how to do it. Suggestions??

We took ours (hubby stayed with me). If you have a wireless connection, it walks you through it. A screen came up asking if we wanted to connect to the St. Vincent guest network, and the password is guest. Then you're right in.
Now your wireless card may be different. If you have any problems connecting, all you need to do is ask someone. Chances are one of the nurses or aides can help with that.
Maybe you'll get one of the aides I had - Matt. Looked quite young, and was just a doll. He was also some nice eye candy!

Now that sugar is in the past...I'm all about the eye candy!

I can eat as much as I want...I just don't want much.
I'm ashamed of what I did for a Klondike bar...
You girls are cracking me up! I'll have to request Matt, especially since my hubby won't be there with me! Might as well enjoy myself, right?

ABSOLUTELY!!
PS: A little tip for anyone going in for surgery this week - the day after when you start getting "actual" food, they'll give you a little spoon to eat with. They're actually disposable plastic, but look like good flatware. Keep 'em and take 'em home with you. I wouldn't put 'em in the dishwasher, but hand washing is fine. I find them easier to use than the baby spoons I bought.

Thanks for the tip, any more you want to share? HOw are you doing? Getting your fluids/protein in? Is it hard? It seems like some people don't have trouble and others do. I'm sure it's pretty individualized. I'll take all the help I can get!

The only other tip I can give you is to walk, walk, walk even though you won't feel like it. The first day, I crunched crushed ice as much as I could get as my mouth was so dry.
I am getting really close to getting all my fluids in. Protein is another matter. I haven't been able to get all that in yet. I did get 23 grams in earlier with a Nectar drink. However, I think if I went and made myself another one of those right now, I would hurl. I'll just wait a bit and then try.
It is hard, but it is doable. You will do great!

My doc made me bump up my protein significantly after my bloodwork came back and I relied on the Nectar...I put a big scoop in my 32 oz bottle with a packet of Crystal Light diet peach tea mix and its yummy. It helped get the fluid and the protein in easily...Also, I bought some bullets and did the same thing grape got white grape CL mix and the blue raspberry got raspberry CL. I haven't tried my bullets yet
As far as the Nectar....it still has a bit of a whey taste, so the CL helps alot....
Don't think I'm gonna sleep tonight!

I'm sure you're stoked and I can understand not being able to sleep. Better at least try to get some rest cause heaven knows the nurses aren't going to let us sleep in the hospital!
