how much weight has anyone lost with having pcos
I lost 167 lbs with the band and I had PCOS. It took me 16 months to loose the weight and I had no problems being stable with that weight loss either until I got pregnant, hahaha. I lost a lot of my PCOS symptoms while loosing weight too. Unfortunately I don't have to worry to much about it because I know longer have my Ovaries because of a hystorectomy.
Don't worry.... you'll do fine. Just have a deep breath and a whole lot of faith!

Well.... I had my first child 15 years ago... and wasn't able to get pregnant until I lost all the weight I needed to loose in order for my body to allow to be pregnant. I had my second child a year ago. So... yeah I think your chances of getting pregnant after loosing weight are really good!

I have pcos and had roux-en-y surgery. I'm only 6 months out from surgery, but I've lost around 90 pounds so far. I had such a hard time losing weght before surgery and I was worried surgery wouldn't work for me either, but I was pleasantly surprised that it has.
Best of luck to you, I'm sure you will do fine!!

Anyway, I had my RNY +4 yrs ago and I have lost ~195 pounds and am at my goal weight. I am not on glucaphage anymore for glucose intollerence (part of PCOS) but I am hypoglycemic. I had a hysterectomy in 2003 so it's not an issue either. I do still have the chin hairs..but I don't think it's getting any worse.
I have heard of MANY who were told that they probably couldn't have any kids when they were pre-op who now have addition(s) to their family so if you still have your baby carriage in place, be careful as you lose the weight! Use a good birth control until you are ready to become pregnant (IF you want any/anymore that is). I would recommend your talking with your GYN about it pre-op and have a follow-up within the first 3 months. My sister was on the pill...and it quit asorbing right. The last thing she wanted was a baby at ~40 yrs old.
Good luck!!
