anyone here that tried for years to have a baby and got pregnant after gastric bypass
Not personally, but I was told after 5 years of infertility treatments that I'd never get pg til I lost weight. I was able to drop 50 pounds and got pregnant right away. I know that they warn you that after surgery you are especially fertile because many of the issues (PCOS, etc) that keep you from conceiving get turned around as you lose weight.

You might try looking on the post-op pregnancy forum. Also, reading profiles/main formum/Indiana board really has helped me--especially in the beginning--in learning about what this journey is really all about! Blessings to you!

We've had several post-RNY babies born. Darrah....had two! And that was after being told that she'd never be able to have babies. Opps! Guess someone was wrong there! LOL!
Talk with your WLS surgeon about it though because I think they usually prefer for you to wait at least a year post-op before trying.

I'm in the same boat. I have a 2 yr old son after fertility. Then early this year we tried again....fertility meds, injections, IVF..... nada....
Having another child is one of the reasons I choose to have the RNY. I am 35 and want another.... I had my surgery 10/14 and still have a way to go but I am looking forward to ttc again next fall.
I have had PCOS since I can remember.....I have a sereve case and never had cycles on my own. I was told I would never had one and I do know. I have been diabetic since I was dx at 23, I am not off all meds.
Good Luck

My husband and I had tried for 6 years to have a baby and it never happened. I had RNY on June 11th 2007 and on June 13, 2008 I found out that I was 12 weeks pregnant. I does happen so hold on and stay strong!!!
