Am I normal?

I have a bit of a headache today, and have had trouble sleeping, so maybe that's it.  But I have been in tears most of the day.  Now I am off to a good start - loss of 14.4 pounds already, so why am I bawling?  Is there something wrong with me or am I normal?  Help!

Chris, hang in there, its normal and believe me it will happen a few times.  LOL  Your body is kinda freaking out because it dont realize you are trying to help it.

Did you get any anti-depressant meds?  I asked my doc to put me on them.  They agreed it would be a good idea because of the emotional mood swings and depression issues.  So far so good.  I love my lexapro!

Go ahead and cry if you feel like it but don't let it get ya down!

Huge soft hugs and prayers your way!

Christie, I have a friend who said she cried off and on the entire first month. Completely normal, life as you knew it has changed dramatically. It will all be worth it, just hang in there.

Thank you so much ladies.  I'm still sitting here crying as I type this.  Good grief.  At least I get something new to look forward to tomorrow - tomorrow is day 5 post op, so I get to start on my protein drinks.  That's going to be interesting.

Christie,

You are doing just fine.  Hang in there.  It's sounds perfectly normal to me.  Keep your chin up.  Tomorrow is another day.

Cristie,

All the ladies before me did an excellent job at letting you know how very normal you are. There's only one thing they didn't mention that I thought I would.

Pre-op, food was our best friend. It had been for a very, very long time. When we have the surgery, we lose that best friend. Some of us actually mourn as if our best friend died.

For whatever the reason, know that there are so many who have experienced the same thing. Talk with your pcp or surgeon about it.

Congrats on getting through this past week. It does get ALOT easier!!

Jeanna, I bet that if you go and weigh yourself today, you'll have lost weight.  Even though we had our surgeries the same day, it seems like you are a day behind me for some strange reason.  You know the weight is jus****er weight - walk, sip, and pee and off it will come!
