Don't bother to count "surgery weight".  I'm sorry no one told you that you would initially show a gain following surgery.  It's all the fluids they pump into you added to the slow down of your system caused by the anesthesia.  It will drop off soon enough, just give it time.

Scary though, isn't it?

I can eat as much as I want...I just don't want much.
I'm ashamed of what I did for a Klondike bar...

Jeanna, it is a combination of things.  Some water, from swelling, and body trauma.  It will all come off in a short amount of time.  Don't worry too much.  The more you are up and moving around the sooner it will start coming off.  Your body just needs time to adjust and heal a bit.

How are you feeling?

Huge soft hug!

Hey surgery sister, don't worry.  I gained weight too.  Ticked me off - although I knew it would happen from reading other posts.  We go through this to lose weight, and come out weighing more!  LOL

Move around, drink plenty of fluids, and go pee.  It will come off.  As of this morning I am down 14.4 pounds from what I was after surgery.  Hang in there!

I'm still sore on the left side too.  Hope that goes away soon.

I did come to visit at the hospital.  I met Chris, and told the nurse to send a hello over to you.  She said you were having a bumpy start so I didn't bother to ask if you would like to see me.  I knew you said you wanted privacy.  I was thinking about you and praying for ya though.

It sounds like you two girls are doing just fine.  Keep up the good work and that soreness will go away after a while.  That's where I had my drain tube... it was ouchy until I got it out and had time to heal.

soft hugs for the both of ya,
Tracy

22 pounds?  I probably would have freaked!  LOL.  Hey Jeanna - I'm not sore on my left side anymore and can get up and sit down with no pain.  I did notice when I took my shower that I'm kind of "dented in" (for lack of a better term) on the left side.  I'm sure the muscles and all will straighten out soon, but wanted to give you a heads up in case it happens to you!
