I'm sorry I missed it but I'm just miserable. The cancer center nurses kept trying to get me to go to the ER to be checked because I was so wheezy during my iron infusion this morning.

The party was so fun for me!!!  I got to meet some new friends.  It was kinda weird for me because people kept coming up and saying Hi Tracy and because they don't have their pictures on their avatar... I didn't know who they were.  I loved meeting everyone though.  I had a blast dancing.  Shanna and I tore up the dance floor right away.  Sherri and I almost had to be separated because we kept goofing around.  But then Ellen and Shanna started in so it took the heat off us for a while.

I missed all of you that didn't make it.  I sure hope to get to see you all soon.

Misty, take care girl.... I don't want you to get any worse!

Oh, On the way down there, I stopped to see Christina and she is doing well.  She really looks and sounds wonderful.  Jeanna asked for no visitors so we honored that but I did ask if she was doing ok.  The nurse said she is off to a bit of a bumpy start but not any complications.  So, Keep them in your prayers.

Huge hugs,
Tracy

Since I am a relative newby, this was my first year to go.  It was nice to get dressed up and go somewhere nice...............since my surgery Oct. 15th, we have not went out to a restaurant, sorta miss that.  Anyway, it was a huge room full of smiling faces, from newbies to 'old-timers'.  Met some new friends, which am hopeful to keep in touch with on here, and I met some old friends that I hadn't seen in a long while.  Was nice chatting with both!  The entertainment was very nice, and the story from Dr. Jones about the pianist was awesome, and her acknowledgement of Dr. Jones for saving her life brought a tear to everyones eye.  Her talent on the piano was deserving of the standing ovation she received.  Unfortunately we didn't get to stay for the DJ and dancing as we had to beat feet back to Lafayette so my husband could get to Kidney Dialysis (they let him come 2 hours late so we could attend the party).  So here I sit, with a smile on my face, knowing I DID make the right decision for me in havng the surgery at St. Vincents!

Oh did I have fun!!! Gail wasn't feeling well so Tiffany did end up coming with me. That was her 3rd year going (my 5th). For her, it was like seeing old friends too. lol. I didn't go on the dance floor. I shuffled my feet a little bit at the table but I knew my tummy wouldn't have been able to handle much more than that.

Tiffany was afraid that Tracy, Ellen and I were going to be asked to leave!  LOL! she said that she thought we should switch places so that Ellen and I could cut up without her in between us. I told her that it wouldn't do any good because then it would be me & Tracy being bad girls with her in the middle! Hahaha!! I don't know why St. V's chose to give away those ice cubes, but we certainly had more fun with them than I did the year they gave us pedometers!  It was one of those 'you had to be there' type of things. Maybe you all will understand more once we get some pics posted of the party. I haven't laughed so much in I don't know how long. Girls, I needed that SO bad!! Thank you.

Last night broke a tradition! Every year that I have gone to the St. V's party...regardless of the weather predictions, the temperature, etc, it has snowed at least some every year. Last night's was the first that it didn't. Hmmmm...global warming? Or maybe we just had enough 'ice' inside? LOL! Friday night, I was going to bet Gail $20 that it'd snow. When the weather came on and it predicted snow, she said that it was too bad for ME that we didn't shake on it. As it turned out, it was too bad for HER, huh? LOL!

It was wonderful seeing everyone there. I wish if you are reading this and didn't, that you would had introduced yourself to me! Spike...Sorry we didn't get to meet!! Frankie..so glad that we did get to! Shanna...glad you 'crashed' our party! LOL! They never said that our guest couldn't be a post-op from somewhere else! LOL! Maybe that is what all of us St. V's post-ops should do next year...bring an OH person who is a post-op from  somewhere else with us! LOL!

Now...a whole year to wait!!

Sorry I wasn't able to make the party either...my daughter has her self in quite a mess andI felt I needed to be close to home in case she needed me . I even wore a party top to work with all my sparkles just in case I got to come at the last minute....no dice but this is ok.....My daughter has been helping out a friend who is down on his luck...lost his job, car, apartment..... so he moved in her apartment temporarily to get on his feet...yea......as if that isn't bad enough...he is biting the hand that is feeding him...lying about everything.....now he has resorted to stealing.....yep.....then made the mistake of pawning it...so we are tied in a mess trying to get rid of him. (police report already filed) She is so good hearted and would help anyone she could but this is really ridiculous! I am madder than hot and would love to rush in but am honoring her request to let her handle it ...it is killing me...lol Any prayers here would be greatly appreciated. So...that is my reason for being awol for the last 2 gaterings. I hope things are back to normal soon and I fully intend to make the January clothing exchange if at all possible. Glad you all had a blast! Maybe I can kcik up my heels next year!
Hugs!

It was fun but, I really didn't know anyone except a lady and her husband from our support group here in Terre Haute and then my husband and I got to meet a few new people. I look forward to going next year when hopefully I will know a few more people from here. It was a very nice event for all of us so deserving of a PARTY, people.  The food was delicious and we too had to leave early to get back home so I could be here at work today. We left just as they were doing the "train chain". It was a lovely evening short but sweet and we too have those little light up cubes! :)
The pianist was such a touching story. I love my Dr. Jones and it was good to see her and she always makes me feel great about how I am looking.
It was nice to get all dressed up.
Hope to recognize more of you by next year.
Be Well  : )

I had a very nice time.  The room was so pretty.  I couldn't believe how many people were there.  How great was that!  The pianist played beautifully and had such a moving story.

Sherri and Ellen - It was nice to meet you, even if it was briefly.

Tracy - You looked wonderful!  So did Mark.  Tell him thank you for the ice cube.  It is so cute!

I did just dance once, but they played good music.  I will be making this a yearly event.
