Open Invitation to all!
I was just thinking this morning... (It kinda hurts too...) LOL. Marion has a huge display of Christmas lights that spans probably 4 miles of our walkway thru the park. You can drive along it or if its warm enough you can walk it. It is open each night from 6pm to 10pm.
I would like to make an open invitation to everyone to come to Marion and see the lights with us. I would like to setup a time and date and maybe meet at the Mall in Marion to get us together. Maybe sit on Santa's lap... (Janene's hubby Mark is Santa!) Then go and view the lights.
If any of you might be interested, let me know. I will be happy to meet up with any of you that give me a message to let me know you are coming.
Merry Christmas!

Tracy,
I hope you have several people to take you up on this. It sounds like so much fun!! I know I couldn't handle the drive or I'd 'borrow' the grandkids and make the trip. I remember when my kids were young........ there was a neighborhood in Terre Haute that we visited every year so we could 'oooh' and 'ahhhh' and get a thrill out of the new things that we added from year to year. I don't know which I liked best...the reindeer carasol (not a blow-up thing like what is out now but an actual carasol!) or the teeter-totter with Mr. & Mrs. Claus. I know. I'm just a kid myself! LOL!
Please tell Santa Mark that Bill & Sherri said Hi! It was terrific having dinner with him & Janene, Floyd & Brenda, and Gail when Mark flew back home awhile ago. They are such a loving...and yes...a 'jolly' couple so I couldn't think of anyone better to help Santa out by putting on his boots for abit!

Sherri, the walkway of lights has both of those kinds of displays. They turn the part gazebo into the horse carosel and they have elves on a tettertotter I think. LOL
They have the twelve days of christmas... larger than life sized. I love it the most I think.
Your grandkids would love it when they saw the dinosaurs running thru the park and the huge Santa factory making presents. It's all so very exciting.
I will pass your greetings along to Santa Mark.
Huge hugs,
Tracy

Tracy - it was great to see you and meet you at Floyd and Brenda's on Saturday. My Richard also plays Santa for a little extra fun and some extra cash around the holidays. He is scheduled to be Santa next Sat in Gas City and I got a Mrs. Claus outfit to go too. I didn't want him to have all the fun with the kids. Anyway, when we get done, I want to stop in Marion to show him the lights. He has never seen them. Could you give me some specific directions in the town or an address that I can put into my Tom-Tom? Thanks so much. Karen
Karen- Your Richard would make a GREAT Santa. He was fantastic! I think it is wonderful you found one another.
My husband has seen the lights up there. He lived in Montpeliar growing up. I haven't. I'd be interested in making a trip to Marion. Let me know when people are wanting to get together...or if there are no other takes....Tracy, I will come.
