Joining the rest of you losers!!
Hi. Sorry I haven't been keeping up so much on here. I have been doing a LOT of my updates on my blog (http://www.tammyinindy.wordpress.com). But, I wanted to post a note and let you know that I had my surgery on December 2nd and everything went well. I do not know how much I have lost since I left the hospital last Thursday. I do not own a scale... on purpose. I will be going over to the Y today to do some walking (I don't have enough room to do any beneficial walking inside my house and.... well... the weather outside is frightful!) so I will weigh myself today. So far, though, I feel pretty good. My belly is doing that after surgery itch... thank goodness for the binder... I am using the binder to keep me from wanting to scratch the itch. One thing that I do look forward to is being able to sleep at night on my side instead of on my back. But, I know that will come soon enough. I do have a question though.... Has anyone found that their eye glass prescription has changed after their surgery?????
Congrats!!! I'm glad things are going well for you. It's funny that you said that you use the binder to keep from itching. That darn thing made me itch. I finally started wearing a tank top/t-shirt under it though and that helped out quite abit.
My vision didn't change after the surgery. I was just as near-sighted as always ...well..until I had my Lasik 2/07..now, I have to have reading glasses. It's that 'over 40' thing..lol! I don't know if this may have something to do with it..might want to talk to your pcp or opthamologist..but...I know diabetes can negatively effect your vision. If your diabetes is now under control (or gone), perhaps your vision is trying to adapt to that change....? I think there's a few other things that can affect your vision too like maybe blood pressure, caffiene intake, or dehydration. I would think though that if those things can negatively affect your vision that once you have those under control, your vision might would bounce back some. It'd be very interesting to hear what you find out about it.
Again, congrats...and don't be a stranger on here!!

Congrats again girlie! I just wanted to let you know that my vision has changed a bit and so did my BFF Brandi's. Hers changed drastically and they told her at the eye doc it was due to the hormones released into your body when you lose weight. Fat stores considerable amounts of estrogen and when you lose the fat... it has to go somewhere. So, all sorts of things get effected by it. My eye site has improved a couple steps which is weird for me. I have horrible eye site. Thank God for my contacts.
Be sure to update us after you visit the Y.
Huge hugs,
Tracy
