financial questions
I have just a couple of questions.
1. have any of you used a credit counselor?
2. Do any of you know a good bankruptcy lawyer? DO Keller and Keller do bankruptcy? Or how about Stewart and Stewart? They are easy names to remember!
If you have any information about these 2 questions could you let me know. My husband and I need to make a decision on where we go from here! Thank you! Michelle

Stay away from the ones who say you can pay them one monthly payment and they will negotiate with all of your creditors. They don't do anything you can't do yourself, and it almost always hurts your credit even more. You can call each creditor and explain your situation and see if they will make arrangements for a lower interest rate, lower payments, etc. Bankruptcy should be a last resort. If you decide that's what you have to do, be sure you ask lots of questions regarding what it will do to your credit rating, what property you can retain, etc. Good luck!
