Just got approved and scared

I just found out I was approved by my insurance and now the nerves and second thoughts are kicking in.  I have wanted this for a long time, but since in the past it wasn't covered by insurance, I tried many other diets.  Some worked, but I never kept the weight off for long.  Now I'm wondering if I should do this or just try another diet.  I'm more worried about recovery time I think.  I am an assistant to a director at a museum and it will be tough for me to be gone longer than a week. I am hoping since I have a sit-down job, that maybe the second week I can work part-time to just keep up on everything.  Also, I don't know what to tell them at work.  I really don't want them to know what kind of surgery I am having, but what do I say?  Any advice out there would be greatly appreciated.

I could have easily returned after one week.  I was able to work from home my second week and returned full time the third week following surgery.  As long as you are off the pain meds and are cleared to drive you can probably return to a desk job.

WLS is not giving up.  It is a commitment just like any other diet, but this time you are not operating on will power alone.  Only you will know if you are ready for this commitment.  You may want to speak to a counselor who deals with obesity and food addictions to help you prepare.

Best wishes.

I can eat as much as I want...I just don't want much.
I'm ashamed of what I did for a Klondike bar...
