Just wondering!
This Morning is 18 day's since Surgery! I was wondering if I was feeling something normal?
I'm sure it's probably what Jenny called a grouchy pouch! But I feel like i could
.
Like something in my throat when I was eating my Oatmeal this morning.
And just a crappy feeling. My belly feels upset. Like gas and just blah.
So Just Wondering!
Thanks
Rick

Hi! I'm not sure which weight loss surgery you had, but it's not unusual for your stomach to be a bit queasy for the first few weeks after surgery. It's getting used to what you're eating and it could be that some of the things you were used to eating before won't agree with your new pouch anymore. It does get better with time. And you may notice that your stomach will be gurgling a lot. It doesn't necessarily mean that you're hungry it's just the way it sounds now. Especially if you're like me who now eats 6 very small meals during the day instead of 3 big ones and it's especially noisy after drinking water. My suggestion is just to take it slow with what you're eating and keep the foods bland and simple while you're healing. Good luck!
I couldn't eat oatmeal for a very long time after surgery. I still don't have the taste for it. iT just sits too heavy for me. ( iate oatmeal everyday for 6 months before surgery) I esp. can't do it w/ milk. Has to be made w/ water.
good luck

Hi Rick
I get that feeling if I eat too quickly. I have to really remember to eat slowly. Also, I have a couple of anti-nausea meds that my dr prescribed. I try to keep some of that handy.
But yes, it sure is normal. Seems like the grouchy pouch syndrome can hit at any time.

Blessings to you all, Leah

Rick you may want to try the Kashi Go Lean warm breakfast cereal instead of oatmel. I have found that it sits better and not quite so "heavy". Its by the prepackaged oatmeal at the store. I eat it daily with a few added frozen strawberries and two packs of splenda. If you make it with skim milk you get 14 grams of protein...its all natural and helps to keep one "regular" so it has nice benefits.
