Anyone have lapband surgery???

has anyone here had lapband surgery and if so who was ur doctor???? and how did you pay for the surgery if ur insurance didn't pay.........thanks

I had lapband done in May.

My doctor is Dr. Gupta from Carmel Surgical Specialists

My insurance covered my procedure so I only paid my deductible.

my insurance doesn't cover any type of weight reduction surgery or even doctor visits for ur weight............retarded huh......so I am going to have to pay for mine...i have some financing but i need a little bit more money so I am trying to get that together.......I am going to go to Dr. Ray in bloomington....have u heard of him????????

Hi Linsey...I had lapband done in Oct 2007 and then a port revision in June 2008. I am not a private pay but a friend of mine on the band board was.  I used  DrAllen out of Louisville...

I love my band, Dr. Evanson did my surgery almost one year ago.  Sorry, I'm not familiar with Dr. Ray in Bloomington.  Since you're paying for this on your own, be sure to ask him about lap band fills after surgery ... can their price be included as a deal, perhaps?  Because if you can't afford those fills, that band won't be able to do it's job.  Good luck!
