Kim,

I have recipes on my profile. Splenda.com is another good source for recipes using Splenda.

Kim,

For me, the idea of a lifetime of never having anymore desserts would have just been too depressing.  So..I had to learn how to have my cake and my (WLS) icing too. First, is to make it as low in calories, fat & sugar as possible. The second is to learn what I never did learn in the 43 years prior to my RNY...portion control. I can't sit there and eat a whole pan of sf rice crispy treats just because they are sugar free. Instead, I cut them up into portioned squares, seran wrap each square & put them in the fridge that way. When I get a sweet tooth urge, I remove ONE wrapped square. The same with peanut butter cookies...I take ONE cookie.

For each of us, we cross that bridge when we are ready to. Remember that I'm 4yr+ post-op. I crossed that bridge ~2 yrs ago. I didn't even try a slice of bread until I was close to 2 yrs out. If you don't trust yourself to stop at ONE cookie, then wait some more. Chances are great though, you wouldn't be able to tolerate more than that. Your taste buds will be happy with just that. I saw once to where you should allow yourself 3 bites...one to say 'OMG, that's good!'...one to say 'oh yeah!!'...one to say 'last one!'.

Thanks for the thoughts & prayers. We've got a little ways to go yet but at least we are finally getting some results from all these tests that are pointing to something.
