OMG! Guess what

I just called Humana to ensure they received all my preapproval stuff and the woman said yes, we have you approved for surgery with Dr. Evanson at St. Vincent Carmel Hospital on Dec 1st. I am wondering if my surgery is truly scheduled that soon or if that was a 'dummy' date put on the paperwork to get the approval? Left a message for the surgery scheduling nurse. I can't believe it happened so easily for me. Guess Humana isn't so bad after all!

My mom looked like a deer in the headlights when I told her. She said, "Couldn't they give me a little more time to adjust?" lol. Also, I was kinda hoping for after Christmas but if they want to do it before, I'll go with it! Will keep you posted on what i hear from dr. e's office!

Congrats on the approval!  I do know that they due use a "dummy " date when filing for approval, so I wouldn't be scheduling time off from work yet!  I know it can take a while to get on Dr. E's schedule, but then again Cristie S. (I think) that is around here just got a date in December with Dr E. so maybe his schedule is lightening up.  I can say from experience that there are pluses and minuses to having the surgery before Christmas and waiting until afterwards.

Congrats on getting approved!   Usually it is a dummy date that they submit to the insurance company for approval since the insurance company requires a "date."  I forgot the reason the insurance specialist said a date is needed.     Now the exciting part is that you should get your surgery date pretty soon too.    We'll keep a spot for you on the losers' bench

That's great news...can't believe it's coming up so soon for you.  Congrats!  When I talked to the insurance gal yesterday she told me a date of 1-29-09. I'm wondering if this is a "dummy date" as well.  I would really like to get it in before then, but I realize everything is all in God's timing.  I just want to move forward!
