Secret Elves....

Okay...we are ALL big boys and big girls here. If you are going to say you want to participate in a program, then you are agreeing to the guidelines of the program. The guidelines to the Secret Elf program has been explained several times and all who are presently participating were explained what those guidelines were prior to your agreeing to them.

So...a refresher...

1st: You have to be in the Hoosier Directory in order to be invited to participate.
2nd: You are to remember your person at least once per month by sending them an email, card, or gift. No one should only recieve ecards for the entire time though.
3rd: Giving something special for special dates (birthdays, anniversary, surgiversary, holidays) are an added plus.

Here's one more:

If I try to contact you over your person not recieving anything, please reply back to me. I always try to assume that something may have come up (lack of $, lost contact info, wrong address/person moved, medical issues) but if you don't let me know...even after I try to contact you, I have no other choice but to assume that you just don't care. And those who don't care are the ones in which I omit inviting them for future draws.

Ellen started a thread the other day...concerned about her elf if they were ok or not. Ellen had a pretty sgnificant birthday recently..her 60th...I don't think she ever heard from her elf. Other elves, like Lisa's, I have tried contacting several times. Even my own has been  blowing off my inquiries. I'm going to give people until November 15th to get something out to their draw. Put my address on the return address so that if the person has moved, etc your item won't get lost in USPS limbo. If you don't get anything, LET ME KNOW. Those who don't, I will be doing a little bit of shaking up so that you will hopefully get something for Christmas! And those who don't send anything or contact me and let me know why they can't...I will be omitting from the invite list.

Sherri, I am sorry that you have had to address this issue. The elf program is really wonderful and gives  a positive spin to those who participate. I have thoroughly enjoyed doing for my draw and my elf has been soooo good to me! It doesn't take alot to remember your special someone...a little card, a free email card, a small package filled with freebie goodies and samples, etc... I urge all that are in the program to remember we are here to help each other and if you are not into the doing for your draw then please let those in charge know and keep this program happy for those who are really having fun with it.

This has been my first time being a secret elf.  I've tremendously enjoyed it.  I hope my elf has enjoyed it.  I didn't send out a lot of "things" but I did send cards and e-mails. 

My questions:

How does it end?  When is the final day?  When we send our Christmas presents (if one does that is), do we reveal ourselves?  I've been preparing a box of presents to send and I was curious if I should send a "revealing" card along with it.   I'm just not sure how the ending works and I don't want to reveal too early if the elfster system does it.

Just curious ..... and thanks for all you have done to make this fun for us!

Usually during the last 2 weeks or so of a draw, we do reveal to our draw our names (in a card, etc). I think putting a little note in with a Christmas gift is fine. Technically, this draw ends on Decmber 31...so if you want to wait & send them a Happy New Year card to reveal your identity, that would be fine too.
