Well today is the day that I tell my mom that I've made the decision to have WLS. I'm scared that she will not take it well. She has always supported me in anything and everything I do, but she has the old misconceptions about WLS. I am going to give her lots of up to date information and my sister will be with me cheering me on and reassuring my mom. Will let you all know how it goes!

Good luck and hopefully it goes well.  I'm sure once you really explain the true benefits and risks, she will feel comfortable supporting you.

Let us know how it goes.

Melissa I hope your news was accepted well by your Mom.  If she's like mine it'll take her a couple of days to process it.  Once you give her all the current stuff she'll be fine

My mom was having a fit when i told her and tried to talk me out of it.
But she knew i was going to do it anyways and she has stood beside me all the way.
Some of her concern was the worry if something happened to me what would they do...
But she is very proud of me and she tells everyone how well im doing.
So good luck telling your mama.
