Pre Op class 11/13

Anyone else?

I'll be at St. V's  for the pre op class on 11/13. 

Surgery is set for 12/9 - anyone else got that date at St V's?

Hi Chris;    I am getting nervous now that I am approved, I mean really nervous. Is it normal?

From everything I've heard and read, it is absolutely normal.  After all, we're about to undergo a huge transformation - both physical and mental.  I think that there'd be something to worry about if we weren't nervous, y'know?

I'm doing ok so far.  I know that the closer I get to my date, the more nervous I will be.  The day of the surgery, they're probably going to have to knock my butt out in order to get me out of my clothes and into the hospital gown!

I think being preoccupied with quitting smoking has prevented me from being too nervous at this point.

yes i'll be at class on 13th and my surgery is on the 9th as well.

Oh cool!  I'll look for you!  Are you excited?  I am getting so excited - and nervous!!

yep! I just wish the date would hurry up and get here.  have you had your pre-op tests and physical yet? my tests are next tues.

My physical is 11/12 - the day before the pre-op class.  I've heard nothing about having the tests done though.  I have no clue when I'll be doing that.  I still have to have a mammogram and cardiac clearance as well.    Hope I can get everything done in time!  Phone contact with the surgeon's office is nearly non-existent.

are we supposed to have a mammogram too?

Your doc may not require one.  Mine does, and it may be due in part to the fact that I am over 50.  I have to have a cardiac stress test also due to my age.  Sheesh.  You'd think I was 110.
