Good Morning to all

Hi everyone
Well I have completed my Kairos prison outreach and am ready to try to get back to a less hectic pace.  I have gained 10 lbs at my 18 month checkup so back to basics for me.  I have signed up to go into another prison on the 13th through the 16th but will take 6 months off after that one.

It is easy to go back to old habits so for you people that are less than a year out remember keep on the yellow sheet and fight the temptation to "well a little snack won't hurt" attitude.

I am going to at least get on a couple times a week to keep caught up with what is going on.  Is there a pitch-in or meal scheduled?  Would be great to actually see everyone.

I hear that the Kairos outreach is awesome but also a huge commitment. I commend you for this commitment..  I am involved in Emmaus and am a volunteer at this weekends Fall walk.  I will be there this evening to help serve the "new best friends" meal.  I am looking forward to it.  10lbs is normal and I think that it is great that you are aware that this is a problem and that you are commited to "getting back under control".  Good luck to you and God Bless!!!!

It is the street weekend on Steroids.  To watch 42 men change and come closer to Jesus is a gift that only He can give me.
Do all "Get IT" no but even if it is just one it is good.  I was Lay Leader for this one so you know the commitment I had.  I would not have traded it for the world.  I grew Spiritually and found how much prayer works when things are at their worst.
God Bless.

Emil,

What do you think about Saturday night for dinner? Say...Lincoln Square? 6 pm? We'd love to see you & Becky again and I know many others would also love to. And those who don't know you yet, I hope they are able to make it too! Let me know if that works for you and we can start a thread so hopefully others could make it too!

You know...I am looking forward to another pitch-in and you KNOW what I want you to make for it!!

I would love too but it is Daddy Date Night.  Becky's dad is in a nursing home and we visit with him on Saturday evenings.  I have missed the last one because of being in prison and he is anxious to talk with me about the experience.

What does everyone think about a Monday night say the 3rd or 10th at 6 PM?  I don't care where.

The 3rd would work ok for us that I know of. As long as it's not too far of a drive anyway. I work four 10-hr days now (M-Th). I'd rather plan on the 3rd than the 10th...too much can happen with me in a week if we wait. I am really HOPING that they'll know what is wrong with me by then & will have surgery scheduled to correct it.

Well lets plan on the 3rd.  Go ahead and set up a new topic and see who we can get to come onboard.
