Hi I am new
Hi Everyone
I wanted to introduce myself. I am 44 years old. My Lap RNY was October 6th, 2008. I have lost 33 pounds so far. I live in Crothersville, Indiana. I am orginally from Columbus, Indiana. I was a 911 dispatcher there for almost 14 years. I have a couple of police officers in my family, one of my brothers and his wife are both police officers.
My husband and I moved to Crothersville just over a year ago. His family is from this area.
I now work as a training coordinator for the Indiana Dept of Transportation in Seymour. But have been off work since the end of February. I was diagnosed with a pelvic mass and had to have it removed. Also a complete hysterectomy. Nothing was cancererous AMEN! However, when woke from surgery my left leg was hurting. It continued to hurt and swell. I was diagnosed almost 5 days later with compartment syndrome. I have foot drop and chronic pain now in that leg. I must wear a brace and use a cane to help me walk. I am on disability at this time for the leg.
It is my hope that having the RNY that getting the weight off will make walking easier for me. I have type II diabetes that was out of control. I was taking so much insulin and still not able to control it. However, now it is running in the 140-160 range without any meds/insulin at all. That is amazing for me!!
I have two children... my son Dylan is 19 and my daughter Olivia is 17. Dylan is in college and Olivia is a senior in high school.
I have been reading the posts and looking forward to getting to know you all.
