I GOT A DATE!!!!!

The best part is ...... that it is way sooner than I thought it would be!

My date is :  December 9, 2008 at 11:00 AM!!!

Wow - I'm worried.....!  I hadn't quit smoking yet because I thought it was going to be January.  I was honest and told them that though.    They said I could still have surgery if my pre op tests were nicotine free.  I've had my last one.  This is going to be a hard habit to break, but it comes down to what I want more.  It sure isn't the cigarette.

Hey girl- that is great news!!! Now, call your PCP and get some help to quit- you'll feel better for it,. & won't have problems afterwards. My daughters surgery is the 10th at St. V's so I'll stop by and do a lap or 2 with you-ok?!!!!

Congratulations!!!  It will be here before you know it!  I know how hard it is to quit smoking.  I quit 8 weeks before my surgery.  I used Chantix and I was so glad I did.  Your PCP can prescribe it for you.  I am still smoke free......I think that it was harder to stop smoking than stop eating.
Good Luck
Robin
I always said "pigs would fly" before they approved my surgery.  Guess what??? The pigs are flying!!!!

Thanks for the good wishes everyone!  (And Ellen, I would love to do some laps with you!)

I tried Chantix this time last year.  Unfortunately, I spent most of my time puking, so I had to quit taking it.  I'm just going to go it alone, cold turkey.  (...cold turkey - isn't that a funny term to use for stopping something immediately?  LOL)

Love you guys!  Scooch over on the loser's bench and be makin' some room!!!
