I have a small "Magic Bullet" style mixer, and I used it quite often to make my protein shakes, and to puree my foods into liquids while I was still newly out. I got a cheap one at Walmart on clearance, and it works just perfecly! Good luck!
TY, My Mother just bought me one and it will come in very handy.

Gordons Food Service has these GREAT 1 and 2 ounce and even 4 ounce containers with lids to put left overs in.. So many things we can eat come in Larger servings  so putting left overs in them helps remember the sizes we can eat at a sitting..

Melissa and I STILL use them to put leftovers in because when you get to complacent and think you know it all... you forget to measure and oppps.... over fill and either upchuck the overfillled pouch... or wish you could.

Rick, Have a strong support partner to keep you in check...my hubby was wonderful and keeping me on track. He was as prepared as I was for the surgery so I had trememdous help. My best advice for dining is to go small and stay small! lol I got several little glass bowls that hold 2,4 & 6 ounces at old time pottery and still use them today! I eat with  my long handled baby spoon and it keeps me in line.! lol I never eat off a big plate now, I prefer a dessert or salad plate and have a few unique ones that make me feel like I am eating special out of them. The best advice I can give a newbie is to give it your all...... 200% and realize you have the advantage of the "honeymoon" stage for the first 12 months so...... make the most of it. I think most everyone here would tell you that they wish they had given it a little more and made the most of their honeymoon stage. Best of all, enjoy the journey and each day be blessed! Basically...Bloom where you are planted each day!
Hugs!

Rick, Basically my only support other than family and co-workers was on here. This is a fantastic group and you will find a wealth of information, lotsof love and support here. We all hang in there for each other so you will not be alone. Your children will be a huge help too, my 3 are 25,26,27 and are my best cheerleaders and the first to say...gee Mom can you be eating that?! lol Best of luck with a new job, sounds like you are off to a whole new beginning! :o)

Rick, You are def. going into it with the right attitude.  Be prepared to walk a ton and constantly drinking fluids.  Sugar free popsicles were my best friend when I had trouble getting in enough fluids.  The little sugar free jello cups are great too.  They hold more than you will be able to eat at first but they make it easy to get in extra fluids.  Take your measurements before you have your surgery because you will use that as a tool to get you thru your stalls.  I just stalled for 14 days last month.  Lost 5 lbs and 7 inches.... I was thinking it was a failure until I measured.    I made myself a rewards jar too.  I put spare change in it for every time I felt I did something positive like walking, drink protein shakes, keeping my food diary....  then when I hit my little goal that I had set, I reward myself with something special.  This time it was a new sweater  and pair of shoes from Goodwill.    It is a great way to reinforce your positives in the process.  It helps you get thru the times when you are feeling down.

Just know we are here for you always and we look forward to you joining the loser's bench.  Do you have a surgery date?

Rick, be sure to take a couple of undershirts to wear between your binder and your tshirt or hospital gown.  It helps to keep you from getting a rash or having it irrate your skin.  It was the best piece of advice anyone gave me before going to the hospital.

Keep us informed when you get home.  Best wishes for a speedy recovery and hope to hear from you soon.
