I just had my surgery on the 14th.  I ordered a sample pack online from bariatriceating.com and I also got a great gift basket with some.  All flavors are different and some I can't stand.  My best advice would be to get some small samples and try them before buying anything large.  Does walmart have single servings you can buy in the package to try.  I know that Vitamin world here in greenwood has some.

Hi Dani!  I'm really close to Greenwood (used to live there) - where's Vitamin World?

I was looking online at bariatriceating.com and saw a sample pack with different flavors that comes in a tote bag for $59.  Is that the one you got, or did you get the travel pack with just 5 in it?  Did/do you like those?  I know I don't want to buy anything like that in quantity till afterward, but thought I could get single serving packs to try.  Wouldn't hurt to start drinking protein shakes now, so my protein levels are up before surgery to aid in healing.

Looks like I'm looking at a January date.  I contacted Dr. E's office today via e-mail (I never get anywhere other than voice mail when I call) and Colleen got right back with me.  She said that they are trying to coordinate a date with the hospital, but should know something within a week or so, but her best guesstimate would be January.  That's really what I expected.  Still gives me plenty of time to get some weight off to look better by next summer!

Hope you're doing well.

Chris

Hi there.... I got the name wrong... it is the vitamin shoppe by Value City.   I did order the $59 dollar pack...it came with some good samples including vitamins and calcium.  I know you can order individual samples at vitalady.com too.
I always contacted Colleen by email too, it was the fastest way.  My surgery was a lot closer than I antcipated but I'm not complaining.  It did take me 3 weeks from approval to get a surgery date, over 2 weeks of that was waiting on the hospital to confirm.   I am only 11 days out and just now getting my energy back and feeling better.

Good luck and if you have any questions, feel free to PM me

Hi Sharon!  Your re-birth date is rapidly approaching!  Good luck to you.  It is all overwhelming, isn't it?  I did the same thing at WalMart last week - just looked at all of those protein powders and thought -- OMG!  LOL

Sharon,

I tried the milk, powder milk mixture with SF chocolate syrup.  It's works for me now 2 months out but 1 week out I was lactose intollerant.  I tried a bizillion protein powders (I have severalfull containers to prove it!) before trying the Nectar and liked it.  Very expensive but you do what you have to.  Try to get the smallest version you can find in case you don't like it.  BE grateful we only do protein drinks for 12 weeks.
