Ok - now what?
I had my consultation with Dr. Evanson 9/8. I had my psych eval on 9/30. His only recommendation was that I attend support group each month before surgery. I attended one that was nearby in October - I faxed in the proof of attendance - and I plan to attend the same one in November.
My insurance approval letter is dated 10/4. The original was sent to the doctor's office, and I also faxed them my copy. I have yet to hear anything. I left a message for the surgery schedule coordinator on 10/17, and have heard nothing. I called her again today, and it immediately went to voice mail again, so I left another message.
Should I keep bugging them, or just sit tight and try to be patient? I figure that my surgery probably won't be till January, but I need to make arrangements to be off work. If for some reason, they are able to get me in December, I really need to know now as holiday vacation schedules have already been made up and I'll have to do some finagling to get the time off work.
I guess I'm just antsy, but does it usually take this long after insurance approval to hear anything?

Chris,
From what I understand w/ ST v's It's usually 2-3 weeks. It was about a 1.5 weeks with Clarian but Dr. mattar isn't as busy at ST V's. I would just email every couple days or call. Remeber squeaky wheel gets the oil. Just don't hound them to death. Good Luck.....It seems like time is standing still doesn't it? I remember that feeling. Hang In there.

Thanks Shanna. I also e-mailed the office manager - I'm persistent! LOL Anyway, she just e-mailed me back. They're short handed. They have everything and are trying to coordinate the surgery date with St.V's, and hope to have a date for me within the next week or so. She also said to go ahead and get my mammogram and have the stress test done so I have cardio clearance. I don't need a pap since I had a hysterectomy 24 years ago. Their best guesstimate is that the surgery will be in January. That's fine - one last enjoy the holidays bash!
Thanks for responding!

That happened to me. I kept calling and got no response. I emailed and I don't know who it was but they sent me an email and ask me what Linda said. The doctor wanted me to loose 40 pounds first, I lost 15 and ask her to talk to the Dr. and see how steadfast she was on this 40 pounds. She spoke with her and I had a date in 4 days. I have Linda's number if you want it. I left a message and she did call me back. I felt like I was falling through the cracks. Linda is the lady that does our support group. Let me know if you want it and I will email it directly to you. I don't really want to put it on the fourm.

Christie,
I went thru St.V's too, and it did take a while for them to get back to me- partly because this time of yr. they are swamped with people wanting surgery before the first of the yr. when their co-pay starts again. Just give it a few days & then call back.
Believe me, they will call you as soon as they get a date!
It did take a week before they called me- so I started making my appts. for the tests, got some, etc. !!(My daughter is having surgery at St.V's- it is a real medical necessity, & they can't get her in till Nov. 10th.)
Don't give up hope- get what testing you can do before hand
and your day will be here before you know it
