SUGGESTIONS PLEASE
Ok I just got the call from the scheduling lady and they have scheduled my surgery for November 13, 2008 at 2:30. That is terrific but I am supposed to start a new job on the 16 November. This new job is very important to my family and I have to have it but this surgery is so important to me. I guess what I am asking is what is the common consensus about going back to work three days after surgery is it possible or just nuts?
NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. First of all your doc. isn't going to release you to work that soon after. Heck I was just getting out of the hospital 3 days later. I went back 10 days later and that was a little hazy. I couldn't imagine starting a new one and having to actually learn something. I would 1 get a later date or start your job later about 2 weeks you would be good to go...atleast for some, barring no complications.

Yes, same here. I had surgery on a Thur and was released from the hosp on a Sat. I took that whole next week off of work. I have a sit down job so it wasn't real hard on me to come back after only one week and two days. Ideally it would have been great to have taken two weeks off. You will just be so weak and the pains in your tummy will persist for a few 2-3 weeks. Nothing major but, the sharp pains of scarring tissue will persist for awhile. I am 3 months now and I think, if I remember right I was about 3 weeks before most pain disappeared all together.
Maybe they can move your surgery up if you explain to them about the new job.
Good Luck with the new job and the new you!!

Don't pu****! I would talk with your new employer and explain the situation. I'll bet they will let you start at a later date.
Good luck!

You won't be able to go to work that soon. Something in scheduling is going to have to change. One of the two is going to have to move to a later date. I would probably start by talking to your new employer and go from there.

There is no way you will be able to go to work only 3 days after surgery.......no matter what type you have. I would talk to your new employee as soon as possible, and explain to them the situation and what your surgery intails. They should understand well enough to agree that you can't start on that date, and give you an additional week or two to recouperate. Good luck and keep us posted! We need to get together sometime soon!
At Goal! 165 pounds gone forever! Thank you Lord!
