The call came as i need you now so of course im on my way waiting on dh to get home.

How do you prepare yourself for this?

I don't think you can ever prepare yourself for this. I'm sorry for your loss. I bet he did know something was going on, that's why he called you. I'm sure you'll treasure that phonecall forever. Will keep you all in my prayers during this difficult time.

Praying that God touches your sister and your entire family with the peace that surpasses all understanding in this time of sadness.  I am so sorry that you have to face this with someone so young.  Thoughts and prayers go out to you.

All of my prayers go up to you and your family. I am so sorry that you have this in your life. Your sister/cousin will need you there even if you don't know what to say. Be there for her and tell her you have two shoulder to cry on. Tell her you love her and mainly listen to her. Billy Joel wrote a son called, "Only the good die young". How do you explain that to someone who is mourning? I don't know but it is a good old classic song. I can identify with you because I too have lost a cousin. We were buddies when we were young but I haven't seen her in years. She was 50 and in fairly good health (or so we thought). We thought she had a heart attack but actually it was a brain aneurism. The funeral is day after tomorrow. Life is to be lived and cherished because it is not a guarantee. I try to remember that to keep me focused on the WLS meltdown. Life is precious and it sounds like that young man was too.
My heartfelt breaks for you.
Be Well  : )

Lisa, I am so sorry for the loss in your life. No, we are never prepared for the loss of someone that we love. No matter how old they are. Even if you had time to prepare for the death when it comes you are still not prepared. Grief is very personal and selfish because we are grieving for ourselves since we are going to have to go through our lives without the person that we love. Please know that you are yours are in my family. I pray that God wraps His loving and healing arms around all of you and gives to you peace, understanding and acceptance.

I am a firm believer that a lot of times we know when something is going to happen. I do believe that he knew something was wrong and maybe just needed the reassurance of hearing your voice and knowing the love that you had for him. He is up with God now and is no longer in any pain or discomfort and he is looking down and seeing that you loved him and will miss him.

Please extend to his family my sorrows and prayers. I know that God will keep all of you safe in His arms now and forever. Know that when the time comes for you to cross over he will be there waiting for you with his arms wide open. To everything there is a reason and unfortunately sometimes we will know the answer to our questions when we reach heaven. But by then we will be with our loved ones and the reason why is going to be moot point to us.

I am sending your love and big hugs to help you through this loss. Know that I am there for you and if you need to talk just holler and I am there for you.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

I am so sorry for your loss.  It's never easy, but is hardest when you are surprised by it.  You and your's are in my thoughts and prayers.  I believe there is a reason for everything.  Sometimes it's frustrating not knowing the reason though.  Hang in there.
