Hi folks..Just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself.   I've been lurking for a couple of days and have read so much helpful information. So thank you to all of you that contribute to this board daily.  I only wish I would have found this forum sooner.  I am having my lap rny this Thurs w Dr. Huse @ St. V's Carmel.

I'm unbelievably scared/nervous!  Please pray for me!

Hi Jenn---Good Luck with your surgery.  My husband Lyn and I are waiting for insurance approval to have our RNY with Dr Huse also.  When did you get your approval?  Just wondering once we get the approval how far out they are scheduling the surgery.

Keep in touch, I will be thinking of you.   Terry

Thanks for the welcome and prayers ladies.

Shanna, I believe we met at my shop not too long ago, you were on your way to a get together with others from this board.

Terri, I believe I got my approval in September.  Originally I was scheduled for the 17th of Oct, but my hubby was going out of town and couldn't reschedule his trip, so we postponed a week.  I believe it was about 8 weeks from the time of insurance approval.  I had some initial problems getting all of my paperwork from my PC doc, so it took a little longer than I would have liked, but once it was submitted to insurance,  I heard back within a couple of weeks.

I do have one questions.  I've been reading a lot about others having pre-op diets, no one ever mentioned to me a preop diet.  Is that unusual?

Glad to be a part of the group.....Jenn
