Prayers Needed Please.

A dear friend of mine, Maria Cummins, who is a member on the IN board (pentecostgal_76), but hasn't posted much, lost everything to a housefire yesterday afternoon.  She and her husband are the Godparents to our daughters, and moved from Southern Illinois when we did to help open FLRC.  When we all moved up here two years ago, they were renting a house.  Well, that house caught on fire due to an electrical problem in the attic.  Their landlord put them up in another house, and fixed that one.  They got moved back into that house and enjoyed the time until they finally found and bought a house just a little over a year ago.  Yesterday afternoon, just after they had gotten home from church, they smelled smoke, and went into the kitchen.  The kitchen was on fire, and spread quickly.  They were able to get out safe, and the fire department was able to kill the fire.......not before it went into the attic of their new to them home.  This fire, too, was an electrical short.  The fire department had to cut holes into the roof to get to the attic and get the fire put out.  Unfortunatly, there was major water damage, and the contents have been listed as a total loss.  They have a 7 year old boy, a 5 year old boy, and a 15 month old boy.  They are staying at a hotel for a couple days, since our boss has put them up until the inspectors can come for their insurance company.
Any prayers and help is appreciated.  They have had to deal with 2 house fires in less than 2 years, and their strength is failing quickly after having to deal with it.

Maria really has been struggling with getting the surgery done, and we have to meet with our owner to try to get him to put the wls clause into our new insurance, so pray for that as well, since it is really hard to get communication with him!

*****UPDATE*****

I just got off the phone with Maria, and she says Thank you for all the prayers!  She knows that it is going to be a rough time the next few months, but they will get thru it with God's help!

The insurance adjuster will be at their house later today.  The house will either have to be gutted and rebuilt, or totally bulldozed down and rebuilt.  This will be determined later today.  Right now, they are in immediate help of finding a place to live in the area that the boys will still be in school and for them to be allowed to keep their dog.  Dubois is a very small area, with very little resources, so any help is greatly appreciated.

Where do they live? I am thinking of them and trying to figure out how I can help. What size clothes do they need? Let me know so I can ask my neighbors about boys clothes. Michelle

Thanks, Michelle.  They live in Hillham, which is just about 7 miles outside of French Lick going toward Jasper. 

The boys are in the following sizes:
2 T, 5T-6T and 8 regular in boys.

LaChelle What about your friend and her husband what are their sizes? I will spred the word at my church as well they are usually such a strong loving as well as giving church. Let me know what else they may need.

My husbands family is from the Cusco area and I know this is going to sound strange but his family is HUGE and I know that his aunt's married name was Cummins.  What a small world, I wonder if they are not related somewhere down the line (Marsha, Wayne, Cindy).  Anyway they are definately in my prayers and if there is anything I can do please drop me a line.  Is there a drop off place for the articles and how is the temporary house hunting going?  Please keep us posted.  God Bless them and you too for being so compassionate.

Thanks for the info. No, they aren't related. We are all from the Southern Illinois area originally.  We all moved here 2 years ago to open the casino.  They have met the Cummins' from the area tho, so they may have met your husbands Aunt.

As far as the house hunting is going, no luck yet.  The Dubois/Cusco area  is really not open for rental homes right now.  I am going with them today to help find housing somewhere.  Another co-worker has messaged me telling me of a home just down the road from them that is empty, and that we should go talk to the owner and explain the situation.  Hopefully that will help.

How is your cousin doing since her surgery last week?  Hope she is getting around quickly!
