Ideas on foods After Surgery
Low fat refried beans, carb master yogurt from Kroger, cream of soups strained, no sugar added apple sauce, carnation instant breakfast, oatmeal or Kashi hot breakfast cereal, ricotta cheese with pasta sauce.
Thats about the extent of my menu for the first couple of weeks, but you will be fine with a small menu because eating is a chore at first.

33 lbs lost prior to surgery!
Ric,
When you go to your pre-op nut class, they'll give you what some have called the 'bariatric bible'. It lists what foods you can have at what point of your journey. Don't bother trying to figure out what tastes good or not pre-op. Our taste buds changed so if you are scrunching your nose at cottage cheese now..it just may be something you think is oh so yummy then. Definately...definately, buy small in what-ever you buy. or..buy big......then come to the clothing exchanges so you can give away at least half of what you buy.
If you absolutely MUST buy anything pre-op, make it your vitamins. You're on them for the rest of your life so that will be money well spent.

taco bell refried beans ended up being my fave...1 little bowl lasted 3-4 meals for 89cents. string cheese, sugar free pudding with a little vanilla protein powder in it. I bought little 2 oz cups from gordons food service with lids and would pack my yogurt and cottage cheese and puddings in those for my lunch at work. Nobody ever tried to steal my lunches out of the refrig that is for sure!!!!!!
