Sunday Morning!

Good morning fellow Hoosier Losers! How are you all this morning? I woke up at my normal time, even though I don't have to be to work today until 11:45am. Lol, what can you do? It's kind of peaceful to be up by myself in the house anyway.

I wanted to say thanks for the followup I got on the teeth question from the other day. I am nervous about getting the three cavities filled. I don't especially like going to the dentist anyway. It was suggested to me that it might be my calcium. I had been trying tablets. I assumed I was absorbing them, since I wasn't seeing them 'on the other side'. I went ahead Friday though and bought chewable calciums again though. To try that. I also got that Act Restoring Mouthwash, that was suggested to me. I do not want to lose my teeth. My mom already had dentures when she was my age. She didn't get enough calcium in her pregnancy with me, and her teeth crumbled. That was due to Crohn's disease though. But still, I don't want to go down that road.

I am really pleased with my hubby, Mike. He has made a vocational decision. He is enjoying the subbing. He has found a year-long program for transition to teaching, here at ISU in Terre Haute. Then he could be a teacher. It won't be an easy year, but then again neither was this one. We can do it though. I am just glad he's finally found something else he would like to get into.

Good morning all! Time to get ready to leave for work, but I wanted to pop on here and say a quick hello first.
Hope everyone has a great day today.  The girls and I had such a blast last night with Lee Ann and several from the KY board.  The pictures are posted now, if anyone would like to check them out!
Gotta run. Take care and talk to you soon.
At Goal! 165 pounds gone forever! Thank you Lord!

Good morning everyone!

I'm waiting on my meds to kick in. I don't think this sleeping in stuff is too good for my body. That or I am just getting too darn old for it. nah..has to be the the tummy stuff!  I woke at 4, took my synthroid, went potty, laid back down. here it is close to 8. I didn't go back to sleep..watched Roseanne reruns. I took my meds (pain & anti-spasm), went potty, and am wishing they would hurry up and kick in! The last 3 days, the intestines have been 'kicking' my appendix around I think (those mean bullies!). Ah well, it'll be better in a few hours. Then I'll be able to act closer to how young I wanna be! LOL! Hmmm...how IS a 47 year old woman SUPPOSE to act? My mother ALWAYS acted  old....like she could never do anything for herself. So...I really don't have a good feel of what is 'normal'. My MIL is 83 and if it weren't for her spinal stuff and breathing acting up in the past 6 months or so, she'd make circles around my mother..who is 17 years younger than her! My MIL..MY hero!  She is the one I look up to! I'll bet there's not a whole lot of you out there that can/will say that, huh? Ah well..it ONLY took me FOUR marriages to find a MIL that I cherish. I am concerned over this surgery Tuesday of hers. I think more so than either of her 'kids' (okay..they are 57 & 55, but they are her kids). Spine surgery is just so..well, scary in my book. We made the decision not to tell Bill's daughter about Jean having surgery. She can be such a drama queen and we don't think that would be in anyone's best interest. When I was in the coma last year, she threw herself to the floor and screamed 'not my Mom..don't take away my mom!'. This, she did in front of my very stressed out daughter and son..and all of my grandkids!  I'm really NOT trying to be  or  this morning. I just wanna ask for your prayers for my tummy, Bill's mom..oh, and Bill's cornea transplant on Tuesday.

Other than seeing Bill's mom in the hospital, we don't have any plans for today. We didn't end up going & seeing her yesterday so we really should today. I'm still dehydrating apples that I got last weekend. It takes awhile to do 35 lbs of them! LOL! I have a couple of batches that are sweetner-free ready to bring by to Gail. I'll probably swing by there on my way home. This time, I used the peeler on my PC apple preparer. I didn't before..thinking that I'd include the peels and increase the fiber. Well...the slices didn't dry evenly. They'd be crisp the furthest away from the peel (yummmm!) and kinda chewy toward the peel. So...this time I used the peeler and the peel ends up in a very thin strip. They crisped up pretty good that way..and so did the slices of apple 'meat'.  I bought several bags of turkey pepperoni the other day. I'll dehydrate them after I'm all done with the apples.

Linda..congrats on Mike finding something he'd like to do. Bill was going through voc rehab to try to figure out something he could do with his vision being so bad. His vision got even worse though waiting for this surgery so they put his case on hold. One thing for sure, he can no longer be an electrician. At least he has his SSI and disability retirement benefits to tie him over while he's trying to see what he can do. Maybe Mike can get some tutoring jobs on campus to help make ends meet this next year. That's one of the odd & end jobs I did while going to Ivy Tech (I also sat with an old woman. I brought her over to her old apartment...her daughter kept the rent up on it even though Sarah needed 24/7 care and was moved to the nursing home section, fixed her a snack, she napped (I did homework), took her to the potty, then had her back in the nursing home section in time for dinner.).

It was a pleasure talking with Ellen & Gail yesterday. We have a way of cheering each other up and just forgetting about our owie's for a bit.

Enjoy today!

Good morning all!   Today is my official 3rd day at home & things are getting better.   I have already had 1/3 of my protein & 1/4 of my liquids before 11 am!

Linda good to hear Mike found something that he is enjoying.   It's great when you have an occupation that you like, keeps work from feeling like such a chore.

Sherri, I am keeping your MIL, hubby & you in my prayers.   I said a prayer for you yesterday after I read your latest post.   I pray God provides the solution to your GI doc about what is going on with you.

Enjoy your Sunday everyone!
