How long should I hurt?

I had surgery the day after yours, and I also have been in knive stabbing pain.  I do have a drain but the sharp pains are on my right at my waistline.  I sleep 1/2 the night in bed, then 1/2 in the recliner, can't seem to get comfy where the pain will go away.  Now this afternoon, the pains are finally beginning to let up alittle.  Everyone tells me it will pass.................so I keep this focus!!  Good luck sweetie, I am right there beside you!
