Getting ready for the big day

I made a few stops this week.  I went to Cutting Edge Nutrition to look around and picked up a few protein drinks.  I wanted to get the lay of the land so to speak.  Talked to Bob and got the scoop from him on his business and what he offers in the way of vitamins and drinks.  I went to The Vitamin Shopped in Clearwater and picked up some ISOPURE and Profect in a couple of flavors and looked around.  My Hubby saw them in the fridge and asked if he could try them.  I told him sure as long as he was going to replace them.  Somehow, that stopped him in his tracks. 

I am already lactose intolerant so I know that I need to have some nutrition options ready for those first few days.  I already like soy protein shakes made with fruit juice so the nutritionist suggested using frozen fruit at first with the powder that I have (it was on the approved list).  I got a bottle of Disney Princess vitamins that were on the approved list so that I will regal taking my chewable vitamins - I tried one last night and it was not bad. 

The smart thing to do would be to look at the book again and make a shopping list of what I need for those first few days.  Tonight would be a good time to do that. 

Lady J -- I went with Nectar products because the surgery left me lactose intollerant as well.  Would you believe now that I'm 2 months out I can drink milk and I'm able to eat dairy products again.  You might try some dairy in a small  quantity as see how it goes.  One of my coworkers was lactose intollerant before the surgery but not after.. go figure!

Make you a list and keep your "Yellow Pages" handy.  Good luck on your upcoming surgery!  It was the biggest and MOST important decision I've made!!
