Dr. E's office called today and change my surgery time from 2pm to 10am on Tuesday.  Normally no big deal but my hubby works strange hours and doesn't get off wor****il 10am on Tuesday and I have to be there at 8.   He already asked for the next day off and I'm not sure if he can take off or not.  His boss already has Tues off.
Worst case senario, I drive myself to the hospital and dh gets there after my surgery..

I'm not happy

At least you will be getting the surgery over with earlier though!  No sitting around waiting.  Hopefully, he'll be able to leave work 3 hours earlier or so so he can take you and be with you.

Did you tell the surgeons office about that? Maybe they would change it back to the original time if they knew it. I would give them a call asap and see. Good luck! Michelle

Although my surgery was at St Francis and not St V's, I also had surgery at 10am.  I was there at 8 am and called right back to prep for surgery, hubby waited in the lobby.  They called him back about an hour later when the IV was started and I was all prepared for surgery, by this time they had given me something to help me relax so I don't even remember him being there too much.  So if it works out that he won't be there until surgery starts you will be ok, because when you will want to see him is when you wake up anyway.  I didn't want my husband to see me worry about surgery because he had anxiety about it anyway and I didn't want to contribute to that.  Keep your chin up and perhaps you can find a 'surrogate" for your hubby.

Believe me I tried but they said the hospital changed it, not them......

What a bummer! Maybe try to think of it this way.... at least he'll be there for the most important time, when you are waking up! There won't be much for him to do while you're in surgery anyway. I know that's probably not much consolation, though, sorry. My advice would be try to find a way you can put it all in a positive perspective so that you can start your journey out on the right foot.
