Saturday Morning!

Good morning all! Today is Saturday, October 11th. Exactly 11 years ago this morning, my son Mikey was born. Yup, his birthday is the day after mine. I spent my 21st birthday in labor, followed by a c-section the next morning.

Last night we went out for my birthday as a family with my mother-in-law, sister-in-law and her husband. We remembered when Mikey was born, and he had a good time with that, hearing the stories.

For today, I have to go to a health fair, to represent VR from 9-10:30am. Then I have to rush down to Mikey's football game at 11am. After t he football game, we're going to lunch as a family all again, this time for Mikey's birthday, My parents from Hammond will be down by then to join us. Mikey chose to go to the Crazy Buffet, a Chinese buffet here in town. Then tonight, Mikey is having a little sleepover party with some friends. I rented him a Wii System from Family Video for the weekend, to have that to play with his buddies. He wanted to have us buy him one for his birthday. I had to tell him we just couldn't afford that. This was $20 for two nights, and seemed like a good compromise. I jsut have to pick up some pizzas later. I can get really cheap pizza at the LIttle Cesear's Pizza Station in Kmart, here in Terre Haute. My Sears discount applies in Kmart, and they recognize it for the pizza, isn't that something? So over all the party's on a budget, but I think he's going to have a good time.

Anyway, thanks for all the birthday wishes yesterday. You all are a fantastic group.

Good morning! I am rushing around like a chicken with its head cut off this am.  Jimmy set my alarm too late, and now I am behind on everything this morning.  I have to leave in 15 minutes, and still haven't hopped in the shower! Oh well, I guess I will just be late this morning.

Can't wait to meet  up with Lee Ann and Michelle and their families this evening for supper at the local Mexican resturaunt.......Miguel's!  Yummmmmmmmmmy!  I have been craving their salsa for days, just thinking about it!

Hope everyone has a great day today.  Glad your birthday went so well, Linda, and yes, the party for Mikey sounds just like a perfect plan if you ask me.  I love Little Caesars Pizzas, and miss working there!  I helped my family run 3 stores from right after the time I got out of high school, until I started the casino business 5 years later.  I had so much fun!

Good morning all!

I am SO glad to have that test yesterday behind me. They had to stick me 3 times to get the IV going...and that was with them using their ultrasound machine to find the veins! The 2nd stick...was an artery! I felt every bit of that tube in the nose. I think the sedation just helped to where I wasn't verbally gagging the whole time. Trust me, in my mind, I was. Anyway, it's a thing of the past now. Now to just wait to hear the results next week. I should hear something by Tuesday and if I don't, I'm to call the doctor's office on Wed. They said I'd have a little bit of runny nose..but I had one anyway so this morning, my sinus' feels like they are going nuts. Also, they said that I'd go more and it be like water...ummm...like that would be so unique for me? I've definately been going more. I was woken up 4 times during the night just to go!

Today, I have to go get blood drawn. Yay, more sticks (yep...a little sarcasm here). I have my annual check-up with Dr. Gupta on the 23rd and my 3 month check-up with my endocrinologist on the 16th...so I'm getting it all drawn for both today. Ummmm...about 15 tubes I think. We'll be going to do that soon. I think I'm gonna suggest we get some breakfast while we're out afterwards.

I do so feel for that Deb's family that Holly told us about. I wonder if there are support groups for families of WLS post-ops who have passed away...? I know I never thought of that before but I should have. I should have wondered about it after I was woken from the coma and found out all that happened. Shoot...I should have wondered about that prior to my RNY..but we just don't think that those serious things will happen to 'us'...they happen to 'the other guy'. I know that the first evening I was in the coma, my family was told that I could die or have to be put in a nursing/rehab facility for the rest of my life. In either of those situations, I would like to think that there would have been some support group there for my family who understood what they were going through. If any of you go to the organized support group meetings for post-ops..do me (and all the rest of us) a favor and ask them if they offer this.

Good morning all!
I dont normally get to post on Saturday, but I am working today so I have computer access.  I am here till 7pm tonight.  Thinking about having a little bon fire tonight with the family.  I just love this time of the year.
I have been really tired lately. I think I maybe am not getting enough protein + working so much lately.  Hopefully after tomorrow since I will get to sleep in, I will feel refreshed and more rested.

Linda it sounds like the perfect compromise for Mikeys birthday!! My son Chad would always want the new and improved.. I would run out and get it and he would return it the next day after playing with it and get something else.. Had I been smart enough to rent it first I might have saved the $$ who knows..

Sherri.. yes we need some trained people to support in the time of Loss... I bet Dan and Ann would BE GREAT at it!! They have "been there" and know the risks and the us and downs.

HI HO HI HO.. it's off to Wally World I go.. again... after sitting at a desk for 10 years it is tuff standing and walking for 8 hours but it is interesting dealing with the people... people just like me who want to get thru the line so they can enjoy their purchase.. in the privacy of their own home!!  I do have an interview for another sit down job with the state on Teu.. Pray I get that one and I will keep both thru Christmas..

Good morning to all!  Linda, it sounds like you have a really fun day planned for Mikey even though you are on a budget.  You creatively planned quite a day for him.  I hope he has a good time with his friends and they don't keep you up all night giggling.  It will be nice to see your parents too.  As I recall you didn't get to make the trip up to Hammond for your dad's birthday.  Hope you all have fun together.  They will be shocked when they see you.  You look fantastic!

Thanks Holly for letting us know about Debbie.  I was so sorry to hear she had passed away.  She was so brave in choosing WLS.  It is such a life-changing experience and takes a real emotional and physical committment to make such a decision.  It just wasn't God's plan for her at this time.

Sherri - So glad to hear that terrible test is behind you now.  I hope the doctor gets the results now to get you on the mend.  You deserve to start feeling better.  A year has been enough time to mess with this.

Gail - I hope you are feeling stronger.  You are still in my prayers.

Ellen - I am not sure when you are coming back, but my prayers are with you and Dana on the road.  I hope you are having fun with your daughter and grandkids.

I need to go and get breakfast going.  I have some errands to run.  Then I need to tackle this house!  Emily is with her Dad this weekend, and Micah will be taking off soon to start her day of studies.  It is supposed to be a beautiful weekend...low 80's here.  Looking forward to it.  Hope everyone has a super weekend.  Hugs to all....Karen

 Last night was Awesome......We beat Mooresville 21-9. That gives me bragging rights until next year! LOL

We rae off to get Delilah groomed....( She plays in the compost out back) I can't get the dang smell out of her for anything!

Karen- Bella loves the snow suit that you gave her...she is playing in it right now! She wants snow now!

Sherri- OOHH, I am so sorry about yesterday. Hopefully you will hear some news on tuesady that will make it worth it! Do you feel like a human pin cushion? I thought about you allday long, hoping and praying that you get some encouraging answers.

Tyler has a football player's birthday party tonight. He is having his 16th birthday party at the children's museum ( after hours) I think it sounds cool. Kind of like the movie...Night at the museum!

I work at 3...off to run errands before work! Have agreat day.

HI FROM MINNESOTA EVERYONE!
  It is beautiful here- the trees are in beautiful fall colors & the weather has been upper 60's to 73 during daytime & 45-50's at night. It is suppose to change Mon. & Tues. to cooler. The only problem is the Japanese beetles are horrible- the house gets bombarded every day.My SIL sprays and there is a ton of them!You can hardly walk outside without being attacked if it is warm out!!!Talk about feeling creepy!!!!! Oh, GAS IS ONLY $2.89 HERE- WOW!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT, PLUS school is free all the way thru k-12!!!- GOTTA LOVE MINN. 
  We had some sad news- Dana's uncle passed away who lives in Fla. He was well in his 90's so he had a long blessed life & is at peace in God's arms now. They aren't gone to do a service here- just ship his body home for burial on Monday. We are going to send a memorial gift to the church they attended for 60+ yrs. where he was a Elder.
   So sorry to hear about your friend Holly- it is a very difficult time for the family. May they find comfort & peace in knowing that she is no longer suffering.I had a dear Friend who also passed after having the surgery- her heart just wasn't strong enough, but she chose to take the risk. I think of her often and think she is in heaven now with her beautiful heavenly body, never to suffer again! May they find hope in the love of God and their friends like you. I am praying for you all.
   Wendy & I spent yesterday shopping- got groceries and had a free Vivanno from Starbucks- yummo!!! They are just introducing them here & gave us one- plus coupons for another one -so I am definitely going again before we leave for home!!!!

I did find my Anytime Fitness place & went for a my exercise on Thurs. I plan to go on Mon. again before we head home. I can really tell the difference. SHANNA- GO, you'll love it! Plus, I can't believe you are going g to get free Trainer- it costs me $100. a mo. for 8 times - still a real bargain in my book!!!ENJOY !!!!
 Sherri- I hope they find out from all of the tests what to do for you- and that soon you'll be better than ever! I will try to call on the way home- or Wed. You know I am rooting & praying for you! I hate you have had to go thru all of these tests- but if they can find out what is going on & fix it then it is worth all of your pain and  frustration- right?!Sending you smooches.
Gail sweety- hope each day finds you healing well and feeling better- I am praying for you!
 Karen- I tried to find those crocs up here- NO sales- darn! I would love to have some- my Planters Facuitus is so bad that I may have to go to therepy & get a steroid shot in my heel- ouch!!
Linda V-  The birthday party sounds like so much fun- and you are so inventive! Tell Mikey hsppy birthday for me. It really doesn't take much for the kids to be entertained when we are creative with our $$- enjoy your time with your family.
