My mom is making her Chinese ribs for dinner and they have been baking in oven for a couple of hours now. I am going nuts. I am 8 days post op and this is the first time that I really want to eat. Don't worry, no food for me till after my doctors appointment next Wednesday. But it smells so wonderful. I just wanted to share my frustrations. Thanks for listening.

HAHAHAHA!!!! It must be something in the water! Bill decided to get enough for dinner tonight for him tonight and both of us tomorrow night. I'm on an all liquid diet tonight because of the procedure I'm having in the morning. So what does my loving hubby get???? RIBS! LOL! Bill is visually impaired so I had to carry them to the truck from the rib joint. I had to smell them in my truck all the way home. I had to carry them into the house from the truck. And then..I had to get them out for him (he had gotten 2 slabs, 1 lb of gizzards, and then there was a bag with bread & hot sauce). I ALMOST feel full from just smelling them!!! LOL! Hmmm...now to go have my brith followed by sugar-free jello!

Hi Laura!  First of all, congratuations on your recent surgery!  Be strong and fight the urge because your tiny little pouchie will certainly be not happy with you if you don't.         Head hunger really sucks!
Sherri, all I have to say is that you're a better woman than me!   That would have been really hard for me to do...at the very least I would be salivating!  LOL

Oh I don't want to do ANYTHING to hurt my pouch. I did sit upstairs and feed my neice though. I think I handled it better actually sitting in the dining room. My moma apologized and I told her not to worry. There will come a time when I can have some....it will just take a while. She promised that when I am able to eat them, she will make them again.

And carrying those ribs in would have been hard for me as well.

I do feel better now. Almost finished with my protein shake which is VERY hard for me to get in today. I must be feeling much better, which is a great thing. I can't wait to eat a scrambled egg...HAHAHA

I was supposed to go home from the hospital after surgery on, get this, Thanksgiving Day! I cried and said I couldn't go home that day, so Dr. Inman let me stay in another day. I can look back now and laugh about it, lol.

I done the same thing after my surgery.  2 days after my surgery, DH brought home Subway for him and my girls and he sit down and started to eat it and I said how can you do that in front of me?
He got mad, got up and wrapped it back up and didnt toss, but threw it in the fridge....lol
I wasnt all that nice though when I asked him how he could do that in front of me.  He said you are the one that had this surgery, its not my fault you cant eat it.  He said we cant stop eating, just because of you.
I later apologized to him and told him it was the emotions.  But you will get to where you can eat that stuff again.  Just takes time. Keep fighting it.
