Hi...

It takes a little while for everything to 'click'. The better you do with your water & protein, the more energy you'll have. Don't forget about taking your vitamins as well...especially your b12. I actually felt pretty good initially but at ~week 3, I felt like I hit a brick wall. It took a few weeks to bounce back after that.

Good luck...and welcome to the board.

Yep takes awhile to kick in but the protien, B,s and a nap now and then will help with the energy!! Small amounts of exersize that you can handle.. walking for example will actually help build energy. Linda Kay

My original surgery was also open and it takes quite a while for everything to heal well since all of your abdominal muscles have been cut.  Your surgical binder does help you be a little more comfortable, but as far as the strength is concerned, it takes a while.  Each day should be a little better for you.  Focus on your protein content and your vitamins and you should start to see your strength begin to return, but don't overdo it.  Your body needs this recovery time.  Glad to have you here with us.  Karen
