ive been home!!!
so i have been home, but my computer just got hooked up at the house!!! anyway, i went in friday morning at 8, walked back with dr jones (which i still think is a little freaky) and woke up when i was on the bari floor. they got me up walking and i pretty much slept the entire day. everyone on the floor was great! they were so nice and made me feel comfy and made my family comfortable. i knew a guy who had it the same time as i did and he was up and going all day friday while i was sleeping, but saturday he didnt feel real well. they woke me up in the night to walk and took my blood. anyway, i woke up the next morning, had jello and apple juice. i was able to go to the restroom, walk, keep the pain meds down, and the jello. so they asked me if i wanted to go home!! my bloodwork was all ok, so they let me go! we stopped a couple of times on the way home to walk. and when i got home i slept and took some laps in my house. i thought string cheese sounded good and tried some of that... bad idea! i felt like it got stuck and it made me sick, which really hurt. sunday i had some applesauce and kept that down well. i got my vitamins, and was working on my calcium. i am trying the calcium crystals. they worked really well in crystal lite, but then i tried putting them in a slimfast shake... that also made me sick. i went back to putting it in something lighter, water based and have done well. monday i had some jello and seemed to feel pretty good, so i walked like 3 or 4 times and each time was 15-30 minutes and i ended up over doing it a little bit... i was sore today, especially after riding up to carmel and back! i saw the diatician first and she sais right now it was ok i wasnt able to get all of my fluid and protein in, but to keep trying, and hopefully by the 2-3 week, i should be able to. then i saw dr jones, she said everything looked great and i go back in 5 weeks! i have lost 8lbs! i was pretty excited! i am still talking the rest of the week off, and going to see how i feel towards the end of the week. i got my protein i ordered in the mail today. i tried it before surgery, but it was the vanilla kind (matrix 5.0) and so i ordered the chocolate. so i am hoping i will enjoy it tomorrow!! i have been able to tollerate milk which makes me happy!!
anyway, thanks so much to everyone for all the thoughts, prayers, words of encouragement and everything!!! i really appriciate it :)
cassie :)
big hugs

I was the same way right after surgery. I couldnt get all my protein in, I was just too bloated and full feeling. You will be able to eventually, after some of the swelling goes down. Just do what you can. My nut told me to concentrate more on my protein instead of food.
Sounds like you're doing really well so far. Congratulations on being a loser! Can't wait til I'm there with ya! Like our Sherri says, keep up with your PEW: Protein, Exercise, & Water. It only gets better from here! Blessings to you!
