needing encouragement

I feel a bit silly for whining to my best friend about this.  So, here goes, I need encouragement from my friends here.  I am four and a half months out and have been stalled for two weeks.  Stall are horrible anyway but I finally hit my half way mark and it just seems like everything stopped.  I know that it will pick back up but I am really down.  I have some other things in my life that are adding to my state of mind.  But I really do want to be hopeful and I am trying to kick this stall to the curb.  I have gone back to basics counting fluids and protein, walking every day at lunch and on breaks.

I just really need my OH family to encourage me and reassure me that it will pass.  I respect so many of you because you share so openly and are so helpful to us newbies.

I just need a boost.

Thanks to all of you!

Tracy,

You may be stalled.  Going back to the basics is a good idea.  Be sure you're getting all you can have though.  One thing you might think about.  You're body may be adjusting itself.  It's a big adjustment losing this much weight.  It will start coming off again.  Hang in there.

Keep your chin up.

Tracy,

You will go through many, many stalls on your journey. Sometimes, your body just needs a breather! It's hard work for it to lose so much weight in such a short amount of time. Also, if your are losing inches but not pounds, you are developing muscle to replace that fat...and that is a good thing.

It takes three things to lose weight: Protein Exercise Water...aka...PEW. When you are on a stall, try increasing at least one of those. Also, shake things up abit. If you normally walk for exercise, try swimming or dancing. You'll be using different muscles & will burn more fat. And it is true, you can put your body on a stall if you aren't getting in enough calories. Ask your nut what is the right nutritional amounts for you...probably ~1200-1400 cal, 60-80 g protein, less than 30 g fat, more than 30 g fiber, and at least 100 g carbs (yes, you have to have some carbs in your diet). Sparkpeople.com is a great place to log in all of your PEW's..not just your food.

Best wishes,
Sherri

I just knew you would all be here for me.  I have a smile on my face today.  I know in the back of my mind that all you are saying is so true.  I just felt like I was in such a rut and everything was getting too repetitve.  I am working on my protein shakes and I changes locations where I walk each day.  My emotional side needed the boost too.  I was so excited to hit halfway but just got the stall at the same time.  I promise to toughen up and kick it up.  You are all my heroes.

Sherri, thanks for the info about the website.  I am gonna look it up.

You girls are all dear to me and I thank you so much for coming thru with your kind words and encouragement.

Have a great day!

Tracey,
Sorry this is alittle late, but we were traveling yesturday. I think so many of us have felt the same way. I know when I went thru a stall I had to remeasure myslef- I had lost inches instead of pounds! Also, I agree wit everyone here,PEW! Protien, water exercise- yep, those are keys! That and keeping track. I use Sparkpeople & love it!
It is a journey -your personal journey- and never give up on yourslef! I had real up & down times, and know how it can mess up your thinking. Just keep doing what you know works, focus on your victories, and know you are ok!

Hey Tracy!

That's what we're all here for!!  You've come this far and I'm sure you're doing great.  Everyone has stalls....just remember to take care of you and get back on that horse...it will get better!
