Telling you all my feelings

DH Lyn and I had our psych evals yesterday.  For some reason I was really dreading that but everything went well for me and he recommended going to a support meeting pre op and that was it.

Lyn has some lung problems, he is on oxygen all the time, has some pulmonary hypertension and some restrictive lung disease which is a lot from his weight.  Dr Stote wants him to go to the support group but also since he is high risk, he wants him to meet with the nurse practitioner, I cannot remember her name.  Anyway, he wants the team to review his case and have him lose some weight first.  He said he could have the surgery but he wants him to be prepared as much as possible.

Dr Huse had said he thought he would do well but did say there was a slight risk he may have to be on a respirator for a short time post op.  Lyn was kinda bummed, stating that he wants it so bad and he is sure there have been people with worse problems than him have the surgery and knowing that a lot of his problems will get a lot better after surgery.

It worries me too with his health problems but I also know weight loss will help but yes it is a higher risk than most people.

We had also asked Dr Huse about if we should have it done the same day or separate times and he said he saw no reason NOT to do it together.  He thought that would be great.  But yesterday Dr Stote said he didn't think that was a good idea in case something went wrong with one of us, how would the other feel not being able to be there.  That thought was a little worrisome also.  Decisions=======

Just had to share some feelings and I don't want to scare or discourage him with my thoughts so I came to you all.

THanks for listening and if you so believe, please say a prayer that he can have it and all goes well.

I think Brenda and Floyd had theirs about a week apart.  You might talk to them about how they did it.  I agree that since your husband is a little higher risk you might want to go first and be on the mend when he has his done, but I wouldn't think you would need to wait more than a week or two.  Good luck to you both.
