I really like to eat.
Yep that is why some of us become grazers...It was so good that we know in an hour we can have a little more...Just don't have anything in the house that shouldn't go in your body... Keep protien bars, cheese and fresh veggies with a little fat free dip!! for an extra special treat I keep some nuts around... funny thing is now that I have lost a few jaw teeth they are soooo hard to chew!!! really keeps the consumption down!! Try chewing a few peanuts with your front teeth!! its a laugh!!

you know it is hard...but the more the weight comes off the more you will learn to appreciate the lil food you have and savor it....i found trying smaller bites...even later out helped me...it was like i was eating a full supper....we go out to eat...i use to hate it....always leftovers...now i eat of my kids plates...or get a doggie bag with pride...i ask for it as soon as i order....i portion out what i am to eat and scoop the rest away so i dont even have to look at it...it has halped me tremendously....so much of what you describe is head hunger...once you kick that...you will strive! i did fall into grazing or slider foods...i knew i could get more down....just slowed my weightloss down.....now i just nibble slow at my tiny meals and smile thinkin wow....i lost over 140 pounds....still about 100 more to go...so i have to stay focused......good luck...and remember we are all in this together.......big hugs

When i was growing up we had to clean our plates that were fixed for us..
You know the starving kids in china line.
So ive always finished my food plus what the kids left.
Also sometimes i feel really hungry and get alot and its nice to have the full feeling after a few bites, wish i had that along time ago.
Ive learned you really learn to taste your food in those few bites(before i would eat so fast and not really taste it).
I use a saucer for my food so it looks like i have alot ..
I have realized that food consumed me, grew up with the comfort foods that my family still eats when we are all together til now i was told i had set an example for them and now are get togethers arent centered around food.
Food was my best friend always there for me no matter what..
now i have you all.
But you can do it sweetie

Hi Denise...I am still where you are and wanting to eat...it is soo soo hard. I wanted to go nuts at the exchange but had to keep reminding myself that if I took a teaspoon of each thing I wanted to try then I could try more items....I was full by the time I tasted everything. My favs were the dried tomatoes and cheeseball! I could see myself snacking on the tomatoes and having that cheeseball for lunch. Dang they were really good. I am just starting to feel restriction and some days more so than others. Mine is a head hunger, I want alot of bad things, but then I feel like I am sabotaging myself. Its very emotional to say the least. Just know that you are not alone in this and that everything takes time.
I am definately in this with you. I told my husband that I sure wish I could just eat one more Jimmy John's sandwich and their BBQ chips. Oh how I use to love them! Lots of other things I miss too. But I guess the weight loss is worth it so far. I still have about 70 more pounds to go but I am 1/2 way there.

Hi,
Thanks for posting this. As a pre-op, I constantly struggle with this and am sure it will continue beyond surgery. I am working everyday to slowly change the habits I have formed my whole life! Ugh....easier said than done that's for sure. The good thing is that we're all in this together, right?! I'm so glad to know that I'm not the only one with these struggles knowing this gives me belief that it will get better from here. I see all of the postings on this site combined with going to the meetings. I am so thankful to have this support and be able to talk about issues I was never ready to face before. Take care all!
