Hi Heidi,
I did not lose any weight before surgery because I did not have to do any liquid diet.  However, I gained 11lbs while in the hosptial but I do not include that in my weight loss.  How are you doing?  Going to support group next Monday night?  I am going to hopefully.

I count my preop weight loss.  I figure I earned every pound of it!!

I suppose that would all depend on how you wanted to record it... Me I started with my weight at the beginning of my weight loss journey. When I first went into the WLS center, that's when I knew this is what I wanted, so that's what I started with. My opinion, Weight Loss is Weight Loss, whether prior to surgery or after, it's all a part of the journey!
So I started out a 282lbs and now...207.5 Of course I've got Lap Band which is slower and I've been dealing with my husband's health issues (was nearly at goal of 165 before he got sick) and haven't gotten in to clinic for a fill in over a year so I've hit a lull in my loss. Be back on the boat soon then, and I will sail away...

If I count the years of yo-yoing, I've lost several thousand pounds.
But seriously, I count from my initial consultation, so that would include my pre-op loss.

I can eat as much as I want...I just don't want much.
I'm ashamed of what I did for a Klondike bar...

My surgeon includes the weight I lost on my two week preop diet so I do also because it gets confusing.

I count from my highest weight, whi*****identally was right before my consultation. Hitting almost 300 pounds was my jolting moment, when I decided I had to do something. I lost 11 pounds before surgery, and I worked for those pounds so I count them too.
