Hello all,... I hope you have a great day planned. It's about 3:30am now, and I'm awake, but will hopefully getting some more zzz's before getting up for the day.

Yesterday turned out to be a good day. I got my diploma finally, for my post-graduate certificate in Rehabilitation Counseling. I took it into work with me, and showed it to my supervisor. I asked him to put a copy in my personel file. He not only agreed to that, but sent an email to the office and to our regional manager congratulating me!!!. That felt good.

Last night I worked at Sears. THis economy makes me nervous. They don't expect a real good Christmas, and aren't talking about hiring a bunch of cashiers for Christmastime, like they did last year. I guess that's nice to the existing ones, because it won'****er down the hours for us all right after Christmas, but it makes me glad for having the job now. RIght now, I told them work me as many hours a week as I am available for, as I need the money.

Tonight I am off work, and will take Maggie to dance class. I hope it doesn't rain tonight, because Mike and Mikey have football practice. They're 3rd through 5th graders, not hardcore, they don't need to be practicing in the rain and getting sick. But they could use the workout, so I hope it's clear tonight.
I think I have decided to donate my bridesmaid dress to the formal wear clothing closet, which is run by a teacher I know. I think that would be for a good cause. I really don't have room to store it, it can't be hemmed up into a shorter dress becuase of the cut, and so it's not likely that I'll ever wear it again. She was excited because she gets alot of dresses in teeny tiny sizes, and can use more 'regular' sizes often.

Hey, can someone tell me where this 1117 Bridgeport Road is for the Clothing Exchange? Mapquest showed it on the far west side of Indy, on the other side of 465 even. Is that correct? Thanks!!!!!

Good morning to everyone!  Linda, big congrats on your work accomplishments!  Voc Rehab counselors are important people.  It was great that your boss gave you the pat on the back that you deserved.  I am anxious to see you this weekend.
I had a really busy weekend.  The garage is done!  Yeah!  It turned out to be even a bigger project than I planned, of course those kind of things usually do.  I had some sore muscles in my back by the end of the day, but I was so excited that I was able to do all that I did.  I would never have been able to tackle such a project prior to WLS.  When I came home from school yesterday it was raining like crazy and it was so nice to just put up the garage door and cruise on in.  Yes!
Sunday I got a lot of clothes together for the clothing exchange.  This will be the first one I have made it to.  So I am not too sure how this works.  I think it was posted that it starts at 11:00 right?  Do I need to be there earlier than that to set the clothes out?  I assume that everything is put out according to sizes and I have a lot of different sizes.  So it will take me a while.  Also I read what everyone is planning to bring.  Wow!  Everything sounds fantastic!  I tried to remember back to when I was a newbie and what I could have to make sure that something simple was there to accomodate everyone.  Should I bring some cheese?  No one mentioned that yet.  Let me know what you think.
Well, I am getting ready to take the dating plunge.  I agreed to a blind date for Oct. 11.  One of the gals I work with is fixing me up.  Well, actually it is her boss from her second job who actually knows the guy.  My biggest criteria right now was that he was a nonsmoker.  I have other criteria but that was first and foremost right now.  I have made it one month now!  I am so proud of myself.  So we'll see how it goes.  He is supposedly really shy, and that is not really one of the adjectives that I would use to describe myself, so we'll see what happens.  My girlfriend wasn't too sure I would go since his name turns out to be the same as my ex's...Mike.  I had to laugh.  That is just too funny.  I was previously engaged to a Mike, then ended up marrying a Mike, and now the first guy I will be dating is named Mike.  So I will keep you posted.
Well, the shower is calling my name.  Today is a Walk-a-thon to raise $$ for the PTO so I get to dress more casually today.  It will be fun to be out on the track with my granddaughter and the other kids.  Hope you all have a great day.  Should be much cooler this week.  Hugs to all.  Karen

At the exchange they have tables set up in the back of the church behind the pews and they are marked according to sizes.  You just start laying your clothes out at the correct sizes.  Then we mingle a while and eat.  Then they will start calling people to go rummaging. Post ops get about a 15 min. head start.  I am also going to bring some food (if I remember) for the church's food pantry)  Cant wait to see you!

Karen, I just wanted to wish you luck on your blind date. You might be surprised at how well it goes. I met Bill through a mutual friend and when we talked on the phone first I told him that it was for nothing but friendship and that included movies and dinner and such. A week later we were married and the rest is 20 year old history. :-)

My niece threw that up in my face too. It always comes back to bite you in the butt that is for sure. She said to me after I told her that she didn't know her ex-husband that long and they were talking about getting married, that I knew Uncle Bill for a shorter time and that worked out. I told her that she was nuts if she thought that Uncle Bill came to me like he is now. I had to train him and that is why he was so nice and good. ha ha She went ahead and married Jason and he walked out on her 9 months later. Didn't care if she and her 5 year old daughter had money or food or anything. He was the charmer that her mom and I tried to tell her he was. ha ha

Good luck on the date and know that you don't have to marry him! ha ha
Make sure you let us know how it goes. I especially love to live vicariously through others. It is nice to have someone to go for dinner with and to movies and just to hang out with.

Good morning everyone!  Happy Tuesday.  With working my four 10's I consider this my hump day because my work week is almost half over.

Linda, I am sure there is a girl out there who will absolutely love your dress and be so blessed by it.    Also congratulations on  your certificate.  Good for you.

Ellen and Sherri, I do hope the both of you are doing well today.

Dawn, thanks for the great recipes, can't wait to try them.

Karen, you are brave trying the dating thing again.  I'm too much of a coward.  It would be nice to have that special person in my life again, but .......like I said, I'm a coward.

Hey Sprat, hope your day goes super for you.  Think of you so often.

I won't make the exchange again.   My weekends are always so busy and even when I think I'll have a free one, something comes up and I have to cancel out.  Now I don't even make plans too far out.  The church usually has something going on, or one of the family has an event come up or I need to babysit, etc, etc, etc.  But it doesn't matter, life is good anyway and I am blessed to have the family and church and friends that keep me busy.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning all.  Linda, congratulations on your accomplishment!  Very happy for all you have done to improve your career!  I would love to go back to school!  It is just so hard to do right now.  Maybe one of these years! LOL.....the directions for the exchange is on the south west side of Indy.  It really isn't too hard to find.....(just getting there thru all the road construction that was going on last exchange was the rough part!)

Karen, congratulations on being 1 month free!!!  That is a great accomplishment in itself!  It is hard to think about dating again, but you will be just fine!  Remember after all you have been thru in the past has just made you a stronger woman, and you deserve everything in the world now!  Also, cheese is a wonderful item to bring to the exchange.....it is always eaten!

Julie, too bad you can't make it to the exchange, but I understand. That is why I am not boing to be at this one either.  Just too many days of work, and not enough time off available!  There will always be the next one, which I am already gearing up for! LOL  That, and maybe the ornament exchange!  Who knows!

I'm off work today, so I will have the house to myself to just relax a little bit before house cleaning! LOL  Oh yeah, I can't wait for that!  It's all good tho! It's all in a days work!
Have a wonderful day all.  Take care, and enjoy it. The rain we got last night was needed so much!  It was perfect to sleep with the windows open and listen to the rain falling. Perfect way to end the day!
At Goal! 165 pounds gone forever! Thank you Lord!

Good morning all!
We got some rain last night as well and a little thunder. My satellite kept going in and out but never went out so I was glad about that.
Im a work today and tonight I have to take my girls to Walmart to get their pictures taken.  I go there to do school pics instead of through the school...much cheaper.
Then when I made the appt. they forgot about me on hold and when they finally did come back she was going to make a phone call and there I was.  She said for my long wait, she was giving me a free sheet of my choice of pics. So that is good.
I still have no idea what I am going to bring to the exchange Sat.  Does anyone have any ideas?  Something that will travel well. PM me with ideas if you have any.
Including LaChelle's clothes that I am bringing for her, I have about 3 1/2 trash bags full. So I will probably get their a little earlier so I can get it all set out.  Im looking forward to meeting those that I havent met, which are several of you.  Im going to bring my camera, so have your smiles on.

Linda-Congrats on getting that certificate.  All that hard work paid off.
Karen-Congrats on getting your garage cleaned out. Have fun on your date.

Everyone have a great day.

Good morning all. I hope and pray that today is a great day for everyone.

Bill is working days this week so that is different for me. But a good different. I like it when he works days. That means that we can do things that a normal family does. Like eat dinner at dinner time together and watch television and such. It is nice having him home in the evenings. They can get to be long when you sit here with you cat. I love Misty with my whole heart but she doesn't talk to me in English. She has a habit of speaking in Catlish. She pretty much has a one word vocabulary too~that being meow. She does say it in different ways but it still is meow no matter how you figure it.

I asked Bill last night if it was doable to go out for dinner tonight. He said as far as he is concerned it is and so that is our plan. It is nice to go out for dinner when everyone else is eating it. Usually if we go out it is for lunch and it just lacks something. I am not sure where we are going but I am sure I am going to enjoy it. We don't go out a lot anymore. It can get to be expensive. Things are tight here and everywhere so some things get taken off the list of things to do. Besides it is easier to just fix meals here at home. I think that we eat better and with both of us working on the healthy eating it is healthy to fix them at home. I think that the food you eat out has so much fat and salt and such crap in it and I don't like that. Let alone the calorie content being higher too. We don't eat the carbs much here at home either. They just make you crave more of the same and that isn't a good thing. At least not for me.

I am going into the church office this morning. I told Jeri that I would be there at 8. That is when she gets there and there is so much to do. I am going to help her get the newsletter ready for the mailing and then I am going to get the phones while she is working on the charge conference paperwork. Then I get to be the one that checks out the computer in Pastor's office. Britt used his laptop and I guess the new Pastor is using the computer in his office. It hasn't been used in a month of Sunday's and I get to be the one to check it out. Like I know what the heck I am doing on the blasted computer. I guess I can get it turned on and see if it is working and if it is tied in with the one in Jeri's office. I think I can figure it out but I am not sure.

I have to get my oil changed in my car this afternoon too. Bill drove it this week end and he found out the the check oil light comes on once in a while and he had a fit. I told him that I knew that I was going to get it changed and it just comes on once in a while. He doesn't figure out my way of thinking. He asked me if I got it changed yesterday when he got home from work and I told him that I forgot all about it. He rolled his eyes. :-) I told him that I would get it done this afternoon and before he left for work he reminded me. I guess I had better get it done for 2 reasons~so he shuts up about it and the car dealer that is offering it for $9.99 is where I am taking it. It is only good for the rest of the month and that is going to be soon. Like today!

I better get to moving my fanny. I am sending love and hugs to all and I am remembering everyone in prayers. Special ones are going up for those who are in need of them. Have a wonderful day and keep a smile on your face and one in your heart too.

Good morning everyone!

My group number wasn't needed today so I'm at work instead of jury duty. That is a good thing. I needed to see the company doctor before this Friday to have my 'desk duty' extended another month. I was afraid that I'd be in court & not be able to make it later in the week so I called employee health yesterday about it. The doctor wasn't in yesterday so I go this afternoon at 2:30. the opening is still WAY too open for me to risk spilling anything on myself. Seeing how I also belong to the clutz club, if it can happen it does club, I don't feel comfortable taking any risks with it. It has healed up alot over the last month though..it's about 1 cm shorter & narrower than it was.

Karen..I am so happy for you gf! I hope you enjoy your date. Cheese would be great! If you bring a variety, you might want to put a little placard by each, letting us know what is what.

Linda..congrats on your certificate..and your boss' recognition. If you're like me, that email he sent meant way more to you. If my stomach was all a-ok, I would probably talk to Bill about me finding a 2nd job too. This darn economy!

Gail...How's it going today??? Think about lunch tomorrow..k?

Ellen..are you doing better?

You all have a gret day!
