I swear, venders think they can batter up about anything, deep fry it, slap some powder sugar on it or drizzle it with chocolate and the whole world will go nuts over it! The shame of it???? They are right! What is it with our thinking???

I thought deep fried ice cream was pretty dumb myself....but it sure sells alot! And come on....lets take something sweet...cakes or candy bars....and lets add tons of fat to it!?!

Myself...I have to stay away from Rosettes (Little Italy Festival in Clinton, IN) and elephant ears...L-O-V-E   T-H-E-M-!-!-!

Now a'days....I look out for the turkey leg! MMMMM!!! Protein on a stick!  Although...as Gail will atest, I am a sucker for popcorn!

PEPSI???  EW....  I have seen deep fried pickles.  I think the veggies are the funny ones.  What is the point of having a DEEP FRIED vegetable with sauce on it???

I went to the Atlanta festival today (real name: Earth something or another)  It's in Atlanta, IN so that is what I am calling it.  They had pumpkin rolls.  OH, that is MY FAVORITE thing of the fall....YUMMY.  My husband offered to get a piece and let me take a bite.  But I said NO.  I ate a few cashews with stuff on them.  But I dug through the bag and looked for the ones with the least amount of stuff on them.

Then, we find PIE IN A JAR.  Yeah, it is a piece or pieces of pie in a ball/mason jar.  The crust and all is down in there and you just open it and eat it.  Cherry pie is my true nemisis.  I did take a bite of it.  ONE LITTLE BITE.

I packed my waters and lunch that I could have and took it in a lunch bag.  While everyone was eating strawberry shortcake and tenderloins I had the toddler lunchable bites...ham and cheese, with some yummy vitamins.

I was at the Earth Festival too!  We live about 1/2 mile from Atlanta...Thank God we don't live in town any more!!  This is the first year I haven't been able to eat up there.....made me realize how many food vendors there were!  Talk about drooling! I really wanted some Pie in a Jar, but didn't buy it.  I have started popping my fat free popcorn at home and taking it along.  I was going nuts at the football games because I wanted popcorn, but there was too much butter on it.
I totally agree with you...DAMNED OBESITY!!!!
I always said "pigs would fly" before they approved my surgery.  Guess what??? The pigs are flying!!!!

I am sure that everyone heard the saying from some movie "Build it and they will come". Well the motto for most Americans now a days is "Fry it and they will come", and come they do too. It is really sad that so many think that it is alright to eat that stuff. But then again I would have tried it before if I wasn't so cheap. I perfer to call it thrifty myself. :-)

I love the way it smells but the ride tickets at these places blow my budget,so eating is usually out  of the question.
But the corn was real cheap....

We have a "restaurant" in Danville that sells "fair food."  They have deep-fried everything, but the one that caught my eye was the deep-fried PB&J sandwich.  They seal the edges of the bread and drop it in the deep-fryer for just a few seconds to make the bread crispy, then sprinkle it with powdered sugar.  Sort of a poor man's Monte Cristo.
