Monday morning
Good morning everyone!
I am almost done with my collections. Yay! The lab opens at 7 and we plan to be there when they open their doors. We'll get these turned in & they can draw my blood. And then we'll be heading up north for our doctor's appointments at 9:30. We'll probably (I hope!!) stop and get breakfast somewhere in there. Bill thinks he's having some fall allergy type symptoms going on. Me, it's a follow-up from my last appointment. Nothing too serious. After that, I'll drop Bill off and then head off to work. I don't plan on getting too wrapped up into anything too serious there either..lol.
I went out and checked my tomatoe plants yesterday. We had that hail here on Saturday. It wasn't big hail, but alot of it. There was still hail in my rose beds yesterday aftrenoon! Anyway, my plants were really tore up and many of the tomatoes had been damaged from the hail hitting them. I picked all the tomatoes off all of the plants. I sliced them and am flouring them, placing them in single layers (on parchment paper) on a cookie sheet, freezing, then bagging them up. I have several layers freezing...and a huge bowl in the fridge waiting to be floured. Guess what I'll be doing when I get home tonight? I figure they ought to be good for fried green tomatoes. I've never stored them this way so I hope it works out ok. Bill doesn't like fried green tomatoes and I try to limit my fried food....even though I do everything in canola or olive oil. My kids love them though and they have 5 adults and 4 kids in their household so I figure they'll be able to enjoy them this winter. I think my tomatoe dehydrating for the year is about done though. I did end up with a pretty large bag of the yummy treats.
Well..time to get this day in gear. I hope you all have a good one!

Boy, you sure can tell it is a Monday. Everyone is already up and at'em! LOL Hope everyone has a great Monday. Nothing much planned for me. Jimmy has to work, and the girls have school, and I have nothing much to do other than putter around on the pc. We are planning on taking the girls to the Persimmon Festival this evening. They are really going to enjoy that! Other than that, not much of anything else is going on.
Have a wonderful day, and best wishes to all those having surgery today! I know there are a few this week, so God Bless them all!

LaChelle,Did you ever hear the old wives tale about persimmons? You are suppose to cut them open and the inner core will be in the shape of silverware. If it's a knife, the winter is suppose to be cutting cold. If it's a spoon, LOTS of snow. If it's a fork, then it is suppose to be a mild winter. You'll have to cut a few open and let us know what the winter is suppose to be like...lol.Sherri

Yes, Sherri, I have heard of that tale. I have been eating persimmions for as long as I can remember! We would always go to my cousins farm and pick them....talk about yummy! My job was always to eat the persimmon first and then my dad or mom would pop the seed open! For some silly reason, I would always get the ones with the FORKS!!! At least it seemed that way when I was a kid.........never enough snow for me! LOL

Yup, it's Monday again. Am I the only one who hits the snooze more on Monday than any other day of the week?
Haven't been on since Friday morning. Looks like a lot has been going on with everyone. Holly, so sorry about your loss. Thoughts are with you and your family.
Sherri, do hope all goes well with your dr's appointment today. Sounds like you finally found a good doctor. So glad for you, it must be a relief.
My weekend seemed to fly by. The luncheon on Friday with the ladies from church. I had to drive up to Sheridan and pick up one of the ladies and take her back home. She doesn't drive because of vision problems. We had a great time. On Saturday got up early to get my chores done and helped by DIL get the cupboards cleaned out and organized. Went to visit my SIL at the stroke unit at Community East. The physical therapist came in to talk to my brother while I was there. She is doing very well. Sat up for 15 seconds by herself, washed her face and put a little lotion on her hands in therapy. What a difference and great strides she has made.
Everyone have a wonderful day.

Wow, it's only 6:30am, and I'm the late riser! Today I go get fitted for my bridesmaid dress for my sister-in-law's wedding. I'll be excited to see how it looks on me. I've never worn a fancy dress like that before, aside from my own wedding. I never went to any proms or anything. I guess I was too shy to go by myself, and no one ever asked me to go. SO I just stayed home.
