Life is not so grand

I have been fighting for 7 years to get my surgery. The definitive answer just came down that it will not happen.
I have a couple of choices:
1)Get a different job that has surgery benefits. The problem there is that people are so unwilling to hire a fat person. And the economy sucks big time right now.
2) let my doctor put me on disability and use the system. This is a problem because I need my income.
3) just be status quo and die much sooner that I really care to. Not really an option but it looks like my only choice.
I am fighting for my life and the depression just got a shove into the deeper pits.
I need help big time and I am not finding a willing participant.
Can anyone here point me in the right direction?
Thanks
Crystal

I guess I would try to work towards option one. It can't hurt to try.

First, let me congratulate you on fighting for your health- it is vital! Second- you DO NOT have to chose #3!!!! That is defeatism talking- get that out of your head! I had fought for yrs. to get surgery, been denied several times, but finally won an appeal with our Ins.
Has Dr. Clark's office work with your Ins. Co? Perhaps you will have to go on disability- but you still can work! No one can fire you because you are disabled due to your weight!!!! I would search every legal option out there! There are also self-pay options with financing.
Do whatever it takes, but so it!! Never say never, girl. We are here for you.

You can usually collect/go on disability and still work up to like 20 hours a week. In your job I don't know if that is an option but it may be?

I'm sorry your struggling to have your WLS covered. (( HUG ))

Crystal,

Go get a part time job at starbucks.  It may not be your forte, but they have insurance available for people that work a certain amount of hours a week, not too sure how many hours.  But I know tons of people have used starbucks insurance and have gotten WLS.  I think you have to work there like 3 months or something before you get it, but hey it's better than where your at right now.  I will try to get more information for you if you are interested.  Please don't give up!!!!  This is your life we are talking about here!

I also struggled for 7 years to get wls. I finally got the right insurance. I have Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield now and it approved me right away! If you have to go on disability you can make it! I have a cousin that is on it for the reason that she is obese and has diabetes. You need to have the surgery done so that you can get a better job with better health insurance! You know sometimes you do what you have to do for the moment. SO if you have to go on disability then go on it and make on the side what they allow and when you get your weight off then get a better job. Show em!
Michelle
P.S. Lots of love goes out to you from me! Hugs!
